Budget Comparison

To use Budget Comparison, click the Budget button in the ribbon in Account Detail Inquiry.

Purpose

Compare budget amounts to actual amounts for a general ledger account.

Overview

Use Budget Comparison to compare budget amounts with actual credited or debited amounts for a general ledger account selected in Account Detail Inquiry. You can select a budget to use for the comparison. For each actual amount, the percentage of the budget is calculated.

Click this button to close the Budget Comparison window.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Budget ID

Click the Lookup button to select a budget for the comparison. For information on setting up budgets, see Budget Maintenance and Budget Data Maintenance.

Ledger ID

This field displays the ledger ID for the general ledger account.

Detail Description

This field displays the detailed description of the budget ID displayed in the Budget ID field.

Budget Amount

These fields display the budgeted amount for each period.

Actual Amount

These fields display the actual debited or credited amount for each period. At the top of this column, DR or CR is displayed to indicate whether the amounts are debits or credits.

% of Budget

These fields display the percentage of the budget amount that the actual amount is for each period.

Example If the actual amount for January is 9000 and the budget amount is 10000, the percentage  is 90 because 9000 is 90% of 10000.

Total

These fields display the total of the budget and actual amounts for all periods, and the percentage of the budget amount that the actual amount is for all periods.
