Purpose

Define buying groups to be used in group orders.

Overview

Use Buying Group Maintenance to associate a buying group with a group of customers. Use buying groups if your company creates customer orders for a group of customers such as a single customer ordering on behalf of its other locations or facilities that may be geographically spread out (such as chain stores).

You can use buying groups to place orders for customers by first creating a quote order in Order Entry. This step creates a master order that will be used to allocate products to customers within the buying group in Group Order Entry.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Buying Group Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new buying group.
Update	Click this button to edit the selected buying group.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected buying group.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button only appears after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button only appears after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first buying group.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous buying group.
Next	Click this button to display the next buying group.
Last	Click this button to display the last buying group.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Buying Group	Enter the buying group ID, or click the Lookup button to select a buying group ID.
Description	Enter a short description of the buying group.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Customer Code	Enter the customer code for the customer you want to add to the buying group, or click the Lookup button to select a customer code.
Customer Name	Enter the customer name for the customer you want to add to the buying group, or click the Lookup button to select a customer name.
Add	Click this button to add a selected customer to the Selected Customers grid. This allows you to specify the customers in the buying group.
Remove	Click this button to remove a customer from the Selected Customers grid.
Remove All	Click this button to remove all customers from the Selected Customers grid.
Selected Customers	This grid displays customers in the buying group.
