Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC)

A Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) is a two-to-four-letter code that identifies freight carriers. This code is used on many documents, including bills of lading, EDI invoices, EDI advanced shipping notices, and EDI purchase orders.

SCAC are assigned by the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA). For more information, visit the NMFTA website at: http://www.nmfta.org. Each shipper has an associated SCAC.

The software currently supports package tracking for the following SCAC's:

By setting up the SCAC for shippers in Shipper Maintenance, you can track packages using the Order Tracking button in the ribbon in Order Entry, Pick Demand Confirm, Pick Confirm Inquiry, and Pick Demand Cancel using the following Web sites:

Note A Website URL can also be manually entered in the Shipment Tracking URL field in Shipper Maintenance. The URL entered in this field is used instead of the Website for the SCAC.
