View EDI maps.
Use EDI Mapper Inquiry to display EDI maps that indicate how data in Apprise should be imported or exported for EDI transactions. This window is an inquiry-only version of EDI Mapper. For information on setting up EDI maps, see Using EDI Mapper.
To use EDI Mapper Inquiry:
Enter a map you want to view in the Map field. The map appears in the lower section of the window. The left box represents transaction data for the map, which is mapped to Apprise fields in the boxes on the right. Arrows between mapped fields indicate the direction in which the data is sent.
Right-click, and use the shortcut menu to change the displayed map information. The shortcut menu for the EDI transaction data includes the following options:
Expand Child Nodes - Expand segments or elements
Collapse Child Nodes - Collapse segments or elements
Show Unimplemented - Show or hide unimplemented segments and elements.
Show Implemented Mapped - Show or hide implemented and mapped segments and elements.
Show Implemented not Mapped - Show or hide implemented segments and elements that are not mapped.
Show Optional - Show or hide optional segments and elements.
The shortcut menu for the database tables and fields includes the following options:
Go to - Navigate to the object to which the table or field is mapped
Show Full Table Name - Display field and table names
Show Flat File Name - Display flat file record, position, and length information for fields
The shortcut menu for the empty space between database tables and fields includes the following options:
Go To - Navigate to a database table or functions used in the map.
Reset Layout - Display the map in its default state (collapse expanded data).
Show Relations - Display arrows between related database fields.
The shortcut menu for arrows includes the following options:
Go To - Navigate to a database table or functions used in the map.
Reset Layout - Display the map in its default state (collapse expanded data).
Show Relations - Display arrows between related database fields.
From - Display the object from which data is mapped.
To - Display the object to which data is mapped.
The shortcut menu for a function or function parameter includes the following options:
Go to - Navigate to the object to which the function or parameter is mapped.
ID - This lists the function ID of the function or parameter.

Attachments |
Click this button to display Attachment Entry, which allows you to view attachments for a selected EDI map. The icon for this button includes a check mark if attachments exist for the EDI map. |

Click this button to display Notes Entry, which allows you to view notes for a selected EDI map. The icon for this button includes a check mark if notes exist for the EDI map. |

This field is always disabled. It indicates the current active map table definition for the selected EDI map. It only appears for transactions without standard import process, in other words, transactions using custom map table definitions. |

Description |
These boxes display mapped data from Apprise fields and tables to EDI transactions. The box on the left represents the EDI transaction, and includes a header, detail, and summary section. Within each EDI transaction section are segments that contain elements. You can click the plus symbol to the left of a transaction section or segment to view its contents. Elements are underlined. Special symbols may appear to the right of an element. A symbol indicates an implemented element that needs to be mapped, and a symbol indicates a mandatory element. The boxes on the right represent data stored in Apprise tables. You can click a plus sign in a box to view the fields in a table. You can right-click transaction sections, segments, elements, tables, and fields for additional functionality. For more information, see the Using the Inquiry section above. You can use a mouse scroll wheel to scroll up and down in a map. You can also hold the Shift key and use a scroll wheel to scroll left and right in a map. |

This grid displays EDI trading partners associated with the EDI map. Double-click an EDI trading partner to display EDI Trading Partner Maintenance, which allows you to view and update information for the trading partner. |
