Purpose

Overview

Use EDI Session Management to display EDI session information, and to mark incomplete sessions as reviewed. For each session, you can view the associated files. You can view sessions for all networks, dates, directions, and session ID's, or you can specify a network, range of dates, a direction, and/or a session ID. You can also select whether to view incomplete sessions.

Reviewing EDI Sessions

To review EDI sessions:

  1. Select filter criteria for the sessions you want to review.

  2. Click the Show Data button in the ribbon. The Results tab displays sessions for the filter criteria selected in step 1.

  3. Select an incomplete session that you want to mark as reviewed.

  4. Click the Mark as Reviewed button in the ribbon. The session is marked as complete and reviewed.

  5. Repeat steps 3-4 for each session you want to mark as reviewed.

Exit

Click this button to close the EDI Session Management window.

Show Data

Click this button to display EDI session information on the Results tab based on the selected criteria on the Select tab.

Store Folder

Click this button to display the contents of the session-specific folder for the selected transaction, which is named after the session ID for the transaction and contains the archived EDI data file for the transaction. The displayed folder is a subfolder of the store folder entered in the Network Store Folder Path field in EDI Control Maintenance. This button is only available if the Results tab is displayed.

Mark as Reviewed

Click this button to mark the selected incomplete session as reviewed and complete. This button is only available if the Results tab is displayed.

Select Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

All Networks

Select this check box to display sessions for all networks. This check box is selected by default.

Network

Enter a network for which to display sessions, or click the Lookup button to select a network. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Networks check box.

All Session Dates

Select this check box to display sessions for all session dates. This check box is cleared by default.

From

Enter the first date in a range of session dates for which to display sessions, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. This field is only enabled if the All Session Dates check box is cleared.

To

Enter the last date in a range of session dates for which to display sessions, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. This field is only enabled if the All Session Dates check box is cleared.

All Session IDs

Select this check box to display data for all session ID's. This check box is selected by default.

Session ID

Enter a session ID for which to display data. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Session IDs check box.

Directions

Select whether to display send, receive, or both send and receive sessions. This defaults to All.

Incomplete Session

Select whether to display only incomplete sessions, only complete sessions, or both complete and incomplete sessions. This defaults to All.

Session

This grid displays EDI session information based on the criteria selected on the Select tab. Double-click a session to display EDI Task Management, which allows you to view detailed task information for the session.

File

This grid displays files for the selected session in the Session grid. Double-click a file to display EDI Task Management, which allows you to view detailed task information for the file.
