Purpose

Release sales orders from forecast hold.

Overview

Use Forecast Hold Management to release sales orders from forecast hold. The ability to have customer orders go on forecast hold is an option available when using DRP. For more information, see DRP - Forecast Hold FAQ.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button

Description

Exit

Click this button to close the Forecast Hold Management window.

Release All

Click this button to release all orders displayed on the Forecast Hold Detail tab. This button is only available if the Forecast Hold Detail tab is displayed.

Show Data

Click this button to display sales orders lines on forecast hold on the Forecast Hold Detail tab based on the selected criteria.

DRP

Click this button to display the Manage Product Forecasts tab in Product DRP Management for the selected row in the Forecast Hold Detail grid. This button is only available if the Forecast Hold Detail tab is displayed.

Order Inquiry

Click this button to display Customer Order Inquiry, which allows you to view open, closed, and voided orders for a selected customer. This button is only available if the Forecast Hold Detail tab is displayed.

Promise Date

Click this button to display Promise Date Calculation, which allows you to specify a promise date for a sales order. For more information, see DRP - Available to Promise FAQ. This button is only available if the Forecast Hold Detail tab is displayed.

Order Detail

Click this button to display Order Entry, which allows you to view and update the order for the selected sales order line item. This button is only available if the Forecast Hold Detail tab is displayed.

If you are not authorized to use Order Entry, the Order Edit or Order Inquiry window may appear instead of Order Entry.

Selection Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

All Products

Select this check box to display sales orders lines on forecast hold for all products. This check box is selected by default.

Code (Product)

Enter a product code for which to display sales orders lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a product code. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Products check box.

Name (Product)

Enter a product name for which to display sales orders lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a product name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Products check box.

All Forecast Groups

Select this check box to display sales orders lines on forecast hold for all forecast groups. This check box is selected by default.

ID (Forecast Group)

Enter a forecast group ID for which to display sales orders lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a forecast group ID. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Forecast Groups check box.

Name (Forecast Group)

Enter a forecast group name for which to display sales orders lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a forecast group name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Forecast Groups check box.

All Customers

Select this check box to display sales orders lines on forecast hold for all customers. This check box is selected by default.

Code (Customer)

Enter a customer code for which to display sales orders lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a customer code. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Customers check box.

Name (Customer)

Enter a customer name for which to display sales orders lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a customer name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Customers check box.

All Shipping Locations

Select this check box to display sales orders lines on forecast hold for all shipping locations. This check box is selected by default.

Prefix (Shipping Location)

Enter a shipping location prefix for which to display sales orders lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a shipping location prefix. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Shipping Locations check box.

Name (Shipping Location)

Enter a shipping location name for which to display sales orders lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a shipping location name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Shipping Locations check box.

All Customer POs

Select this check box to display sales orders lines on forecast hold for all customer purchase order numbers. This check box is selected by default.

Customer PO Number

Enter a customer purchase order number for which to display sales order lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a customer purchase order number. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Customer POs check box.

All Order Numbers

Select this check box to display sales orders lines on forecast hold for all order numbers. This check box is selected by default.

From (Order Number)

Enter a sales order number for which to display lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a sales order number. If you want to display lines on forecast hold for a range of order numbers, enter the first order number in the range. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Order Numbers field.

To (Order Number)

Enter the last sales order number in a range of sales order numbers for which to display lines on forecast hold, or click the Lookup button to select a sales order number. If you only want to display lines on forecast hold for a single order, you can leave this field blank. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Order Numbers field.

All Order Dates

Select this check box to display sales orders lines on forecast hold for all order dates. This check box is selected by default.

From (Order Date)

Enter an order date for which to display sales order lines on forecast hold, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. If you want to display lines on forecast hold for a range of order dates, enter the first order date in the range. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Order Dates field.

To (Order Date)

Enter the last order date in a range of order dates for which to display sales order lines on forecast hold, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. If you want to only display order lines on forecast hold for a single order date, you can leave this field blank. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Order Dates field.

All Required Dates

Select this check box to display sales orders lines on forecast hold for all required dates. This check box is selected by default.

From (Required Date)

Enter a required date for which to display sales order lines on forecast hold, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. If you want to display lines on forecast hold for a range of required dates, enter the first required date in the range. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Required Dates field.

To (Required Date)

Enter the last required date in a range of required dates for which to display sales order lines on forecast hold, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. If you want to only display order lines on forecast hold for a single required date, you can leave this field blank. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Required Dates field.

Primary Sort

Select a primary sort method for data on the Forecast Hold Detail tab. You can select one of the following options:

  • Product ID

  • Forecast Group ID

  • Customer ID

  • Ship To Location

  • Order Date

  • Required Date

  • Order Number

  • Customer PO

Secondary Sort

Select a secondary sort method for data on the Forecast Hold Detail tab. You can select one of the following options:

  • Product ID

  • Forecast Group ID

  • Customer ID

  • Ship To Location

  • Order Date

  • Required Date

  • Order Number

  • Customer PO

Status

Select whether to display orders not released from forecast hold (open), orders released from forecast hold (closed), or both orders that have and have not been released from forecast hold.

Forecast Hold Detail Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Forecast Hold Detail

This grid displays sales order lines on forecast hold based on the criteria selected on the Selection tab.  Double-click a row to display the Manage Product Forecasts tab in Product DRP Management for the product on the sales order line. The grid includes the following columns:

  • Product Code - This column displays the product code for the sales order line.

  • Product Name - This column displays the product name for the sales order line.

  • Release - Select this check box to release a line item from forecast hold.

  • Forecast Hold - This column displays Yes if the line item is on forecast hold, and No after the line item is released from forecast hold.

  • Order Number - This column displays the order number for the sales order line.

  • Line - This column displays the line number on the sales order.

  • Customer PO - This column displays the customer purchase order for the sales order.

  • Forecast Group ID - This column displays the forecast group ID for the customer.

  • Forecast Group Name - This column displays the forecast group name for the customer.

  • Customer Code - This column displays the customer code for the customer.

  • Customer Name - This column displays the name of the customer.

  • Shipping Location ID - This column displays the shipping location prefix for the sales order.

  • Shipping Location Name - This column displays the shipping location name for the sales order.

  • Order Date - This column displays the order date for the sales order.

  • Required Date - This column displays the required date for the sales order.

  • Quantity - This column displays the quantity for the product on the sales order line.

  • U/M - This column displays the unit of measure for the product on the sales order line.

  • Allocated Quantity - This column displays the allocated quantity for each sales order line item. You can manually update this quantity.

Order Lines

This field displays the total number of displayed order line items.

Order Quantity

This field displays the total quantity ordered for the displayed line items.
