Purpose

Set up and maintain operation categories.

Overview

Use Operation Category Maintenance to create, edit, and delete operation categories. You can use operation categories to group related operations. You can assign operations to operation categories in Operation Maintenance.

Creating Operation Categories

To create an operation category:

Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter a code for the operation category in the Category Code field.
Enter a name for the operation category in the Name field.
Enter a description of the operation category in the Description field.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The operation category is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Operation Category Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a operation category.
Update	Click this button to update the selected operation category.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected operation category.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first operation category.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous operation category.
Next	Click this button to display the next operation category.
Last	Click this button to display the last operation category.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Category Code	Enter a code for the operation category, or click the Lookup button to select an existing operation category code.
Name	Enter a name for the operation category, or click the Lookup button to select an existing operation category name.
