Purpose

View orders for a specific address.

Overview

Use Order Search by Address Inquiry to display a customer’s orders if you know all or part of a customer's billing or shipping address. After you view the orders for a customer, you can drill down to view detailed line item information for a specific order.

Using the Order Search by Address Inquiry

To use the inquiry:

  1. Click the Lookup button for the Address Type field, and select whether to search for orders by billing or shipping address.

  2. Select filter criteria for the orders you want to display.

Example You want to view orders for a specific customer phone number. To do this, clear the All check box associated with the Phone Number field, and enter the customer's phone number in the Phone Number field.

  1. Click the Show Data button in the ribbon. The grid displays orders based on the selected criteria.

  2. If you want to display line item information for an order, double-click the order to display the information in Order Edit.

Note If you are not authorized to use Order Edit, the Order Entry window appears instead, and allows you to view and update information for the selected order. If you are not authorized to use Order Edit or Order Entry, the Order Inquiry window appears instead, and allows you to view order information for the selected order.

Click this button to close the Order Search by Address Inquiry window.

Show Data

Click this button to display order information in the Orders grid based on the selected criteria.

Order Detail

Click this button to display Order Edit, which allows you to view and update information for the order selected in the Orders grid.

Note If you are not authorized to use Order Edit, the Order Entry window appears instead, and allows you to view and update information for the selected order. If you are not authorized to use Order Edit or Order Entry, the Order Inquiry window appears instead, and allows you to view order information for the selected order.

Order Relationship Inquiry

Click this button to display Order Relationship Inquiry, which allows you to view relationships for the order selected in the Orders grid.

Field or Button

Description

All (Customers)

Select this check box to display orders for all customers. This check box is selected by default.

Customer Code

Enter a customer code for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a customer code. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

Customer Name

Enter a customer name for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a customer name. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Billing Customers)

Select this check box to display orders for all billing customers. This check box is selected by default.

Billing Customer Code

Enter a billing customer code for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a billing customer code. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

Billing Customer Name

Enter a billing customer name for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a billing customer name. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Order Classes)

Select this check box to display orders for all order classes. This check box is selected by default.

Order Class

Enter an order class for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select an order class. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Order Statuses)

Select this check box to display orders for all order statuses. This check box is cleared by default.

Order Status

Click the Lookup button to select an order status for which to display orders. This button is only enabled if the associated All check box is cleared.

All (Dates)

Select this check box to display orders for all order dates. This check box is selected by default.

From Date

Enter the first order date in a range of order dates for which to display orders, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

To Date

Enter the last order date in a range of order dates for which to display orders, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Sale Types)

Select this check box to display orders for all sales types. This check box is selected by default.

Sale Type

Enter a sale type for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a sale type. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Names)

Select this check box to display orders for all address names. This check box is selected by default.

Name

Enter an address name for which to display orders. You can enter just the beginning characters of a name to display orders for it.

Example If you enter Wa, orders display for address names WalMart and Waldens.

This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Phone Numbers)

Select this check box to display orders for all phone numbers. This check box is selected by default.

Phone Number

Enter a phone number for which to display orders. You can enter just the beginning characters of a phone number to display orders for it.

Example If you enter 555, orders display for phone numbers 555-1111 and 555-2222.

This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Fax Numbers)

Select this check box to display orders for all fax numbers. This check box is selected by default.

Fax Number

Enter a fax number for which to display orders. You can enter just the beginning characters of a fax number to display orders for it.

Example If you enter 555, orders display for fax numbers 555-1111 and 555-2222.

This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Email Addresses)

Select this check box to display orders for all email addresses. This check box is selected by default.

Email Address

Enter an email address for which to display orders. You can enter just the beginning characters of an email address to display orders for it.

Example If you enter Wa, orders display for Wally@WMart.com and Will@WMart.com.

This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Address 1's)

Select this check box to display orders for any address first line. This check box is selected by default.

Address 1

Enter the first line of the address for which to display orders. You can enter just the beginning characters of an address to display orders for it.

Example If you enter 10 Wa, orders display for addresses 10 WalMart Avenue and 10 Wasington.

This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Cities)

Select this check box to display orders for all cities. This check box is selected by default.

City

Enter the address city for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a city. You can enter just the beginning characters of a city to display orders for it.

Example If you enter New, orders display for New York and New Amsterdam.

This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (States/Provinces)

Select this check box to display orders for all states/provinces. This check box is selected by default.

State

Enter the address state or province for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a state or province. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Postal Codes)

Select this check box to display orders for all postal codes. This check box is selected by default.

Postal Code

Enter the address postal code for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a postal code. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Countries)

Select this check box to display orders for all countries. This check box is selected by default.

Country

Enter the address country for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a country. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Counties)

Select this check box to display orders for all counties. This check box is selected by default.

County

Enter the address county for which to display orders. You can enter just the beginning characters of a county to display orders for it.

Example If you enter Bu, orders display for Bucks and Buckingham counties.

This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

Address Type

Click the Lookup button to select whether to filter by ship-to or bill-to address.

Select these check boxes to display orders for all customer user-defined field values. These check boxes are selected by default.

Customer User Defined 1-20

Enter a user-defined field value by which to display orders. These fields are only enabled if you clear the associated All check boxes

All (Customer Divisions)

Select this check box to display orders for all customer divisions. This check box is selected by default.

Customer Division

Enter a customer division for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a customer division. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

All (Customer Search Names)

Select this check box to display orders for all customer search names. This check box is selected by default.

Customer Search Name

Enter a customer search name for which to display orders. This field is only enabled if you clear the associated All check box.

Orders

This grid displays order information for the selected criteria. Double-click an order to display Order Edit, which allows you to view and update information for the order selected in the Orders grid.
