Periods Definition

To use Periods Definition, click the Period Names button in the ribbon in Ledger Maintenance.

Purpose

View or enter period information for the current year.

Use Periods Definition to assign names and start dates to the periods in the current general ledger year.

Note You can only edit period names and start dates if you were in Edit mode in Ledger Maintenance.

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Periods Definition window.
OK	Click this button to accept the defined periods, and close the Periods Definition window.
Fill Calendar Months	Click this button to automatically fill blank period names with month names (January through December).

Field or Button	Description
Period 1-12/13 Period Name	Enter the name for each period. Example January, February, March, etc.
Period 1-12/13 Start Date	Enter the start date for each period, or click the drop-down arrow to select the start date.
Current G/L Year	This field displays the current general ledger year.
