Purpose

View program access settings for a user ID or user group.

Overview

Use Program Access Inquiry to view a list of programs that a specific user or user group can or cannot access. For information on allowing or revoking access to menus, which controls the programs users and user groups can access, see Menu Security Maintenance and User or Group Security Maintenance.

Using the Program Access Inquiry

To use the inquiry:

Select whether you want to display program access for a user ID or a user group by selecting the User ID or Group ID radio button.
Enter a user ID in the User ID field or a user group in the Group ID field.
Select whether you want to display programs the user or user group can or cannot access.
Click the Show Data button in the ribbon.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Program Access Inquiry window.
Show Data	Click this button to display programs the user or user group can or cannot access.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
User ID/Group ID	Enter a user ID or user group for which you want to view menu access, or click the Lookup button to select a user ID or user group.
View Access by	Select whether to display program access for a user ID or user group ID.
Show Access Allowed/Show Access Denied	Select whether to display programs the user or user group can or cannot access.
Programs	This grid displays programs the user can or cannot access. This grid includes the following columns: Module - This column displays the module for each program the user or user group can or cannot access. Program - This column displays the program name of each program the user or user group can or cannot access. Menu Choice - This column displays yes for each program that can be accessed from a menu and no for each program that cannot be accessed from a menu. Description - This column displays the description of each program the user or user group can or cannot access. Defined by - This column displays the method used to define access for each program the user or user group can or cannot access.
