To set up a new Wireless Warehouse user:
Create a user bin. A user bin is where the product is stored in inventory after it is picked up, but before it is put down again.
In Bin Maintenance, select a location.
Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter a bin name, such as the name of the user that will be associated with the bin. For example, enter john.smith as the bin name for user john.smith.
Select the User Bin check box.
Click the OK button in the ribbon.
Set up a user. Wireless Warehouse users are set up similarly to other Apprise users. However, you must select either Wireless Warehouse Only or Apprise and Wireless Warehouse for the Type of Access field to allow users to log in on the handheld device.
In User Profile Maintenance, enter a user ID in the User ID field.
Click the Update button in the ribbon.
Click the Lookup button for the Type of Access field and select Apprise and Wireless Warehouse.
Click the User Extended Options button in the ribbon. The User Extended Options window appears.
Click the Update button in the ribbon.
Click the Warehouse tab.
Enter the user bin created in step 1 in the Bin Name field in the User Inventory Bin section.
Click the OK button in the ribbon.
Click the Exit button in the ribbon.
In User Profile Maintenance, click the OK button in the ribbon.
NOTE You can also create a new Apprise user ID by clicking the New button in the ribbon instead of the Update button in the ribbon. The only required settings are listed in the steps above.
Assign the user to a warehouse team. This step is optional, but it is recommended to add Wireless Warehouse users to warehouse teams. You can group users together into teams for easier security assignment.
In Warehouse Team User Maintenance, enter a warehouse team in the Team field.
Click the Update button in the ribbon.
Select the user in the Available Users grid.
Click the Add button.
Click the OK button in the ribbon.
You may also want to perform the following optional steps:
Select Wireless Warehouse tasks that a warehouse team will be allowed to perform. Use Warehouse Team Task Type Maintenance to select the Wireless Warehouse tasks that a warehouse team will be allowed to perform in specific locations/zones.
Select Wireless Warehouse tasks that a warehouse user will be allowed to perform. Use Warehouse User Task Type Maintenance to select the Wireless Warehouse tasks that an individual user will be allowed to perform in specific locations/zones. User task settings override team task settings. If a Wireless Warehouse user was assigned to a warehouse team, you can skip this step.
Specify the tasks you want users to perform wirelessly for specific zones. In Zone Maintenance, enter a zone, click the Update button in the ribbon, and then click the Task Options button in the ribbon. The Zone Task Options window appears, and enables you to specify which tasks you want to perform wirelessly for the zone. Each task you set up for a zone has options on how that task should function. For example, you can set up picking for Zone A, so that users need to scan the bin, and then scan each product they pick, or the picking tasks can require that users only scan the bin, and then enter the quantity for each product they pick.
