Purpose

View customer information.

Overview

Use Customer Lookup Inquiry to look up customer information.

Using the Inquiry

To view customer information:

  1. Click the Lookup button for the Lookup By field, and select a method for searching for customers. If you want to display all customers, you can leave the default value of All Customers, and skip to step 3.

  2. Enter a value for which to find customers in the Value field based on the search method selected in step 1.

  3. Click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Customers display in the Customers grid.

  4. Double-click a customer in the Customers grid to display customer information below the grid. For more detailed information, select a customer, and then click the Customer button in the ribbon.

Click this button to close the Customer Lookup Inquiry window.

Show Data

Click this button to display customers in the Customers grid based on the selected criteria.

Customer

Click this button to display Customer Maintenance, which allows you to view and update information for the selected customer.

Note If you are not authorized to use Customer Maintenance, the Customer Inquiry window appears instead, and allows you to view information for the customer.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Lookup By

Click the Lookup button to select a method for searching for customers. This field defaults to All Customers, which indicates that all customers are displayed in the Customers grid if you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. If you select a different search method, you must enter a value in the Value field.

Value

Enter a value for which to find customers based on the selection in the Lookup By field.

Customers

This grid displays customers that meet the search criteria after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Double-click a customer to display customer information below the grid.

Note This grid is cached to improve performance. You cannot sort, filter, group, graph, or summarize data in this grid.

Customer Name

This field displays the customer name for the selected customer.

Billing Customer Code

This field displays the billing customer code of the billing company for the selected customer.

Customer Code

This field displays the customer code for the selected customer.

Credit Customer Code

This field displays the customer code of the credit company used by the selected customer.

Address 1

This field displays the first line of the address for the selected customer.

Group ID

This field displays the customer group for the selected customer.

Address 2

This field displays the second line of the address for the selected customer.

Sales Representative

This field displays the sales representative assigned to the selected customer.

City

This field displays the city for the selected customer.

Customer Division

This field displays the customer division for the selected customer.

State

This field displays the state for the selected customer.

Postal Code

This field displays the postal code for the selected customer.

Location

This field displays the location of the default ship-from warehouse for the selected customer.

Country

This field displays the country for the selected customer.

Territory

This field displays the territory for the selected customer. Territory is another method of grouping customers.

Phone

This field displays the phone number of the selected customer.
