Purpose

Set up and maintain customer shipping options.

Overview

Use Customer Shipping Options Maintenance to create, edit, and delete shipping options for customers, shipping options groups, and EDI trading partners. You can set up customer shipping options for customers or EDI trading partners that have multiple shipping account IDs for a single ship-to address or distribution center (or all ship-to addresses or distribution centers). For each customer, shipping options group, or trading partner, you can assign multiple shipping account IDs.

NOTE If a customer only has one shipping account ID for each ship-to address or a trading partner only has one shipping account ID for each distribution center, you do not need to set up shipping account IDs in Customer Shipping Options Maintenance. You can instead specify the shipping account IDs on the Ship-To tab in Customer Maintenance or in EDI Distribution Center Maintenance. However, if you are using a ProShip or UPS Cloud shipper interface, you do need to set up shipping account IDs in Customer Shipping Options Maintenance, so that you can specify shipping options.

If different customer shipping options are set up for a customer at different levels, the most specific record takes precedence (i.e., the customer shipping options set up for a specific ship-to address in Customer Shipping Options Maintenance.

NOTE Shipping account IDs set up in Customer Shipping Options Maintenance are used instead of shipping account IDs set up in Customer Maintenance or in EDI Distribution Center Maintenance.

You can also import customer shipping options in Customer Shipping Options Import.

Creating Customer Shipping Options

To create customer shipping options:

  1. Click the New button in the ribbon.

  2. Select whether you are creating customer shipping options for a customer, shipping options group, or EDI trading partner.

  3. Enter the customer code/name, shipping options group, or EDI trading partner ID/name for the customer shipping options.

  4. If you are creating customer shipping options for a customer or trading partner, specify whether the customer shipping options are for all or a single ship-to address or distribution center.

  5. Enter the shipper interface for the customer shipping options.

  6. If you entered a ProShip shipper interface in step 5, enter the carrier for the customer shipping options.

  7. Enter the shipper ID/name for the customer shipping options.

  8. Enter the customer, shipping options group, or trading partner shipping account ID.

  9. If you entered a ProShip shipper interface in step 5, enter ProShip shipping options on the ProShip Options tab.

  10. If you entered a UPS Cloud shipper interface in step 5, select UPS Cloud shipping options on the UPS Cloud tab.

  11. Click the OK ribbon button. The customer shipping options record is created.

Click this button to create a new customer shipping options record. This button is only available if the ProShip Options tab is displayed.

Update

Click this button to update the selected customer shipping options record. This button is only available if the ProShip Options tab is displayed.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected customer shipping options record. This button is only available if the ProShip Options tab is displayed.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon. This button is only available if the ProShip Options tab is displayed.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon. This button is only available if the ProShip Options tab is displayed.

First

Click this button to display the first customer shipping options record. This button is only available if the ProShip Options tab is displayed.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous customer shipping options record. This button is only available if the ProShip Options tab is displayed.

Next

Click this button to display the next customer shipping options record. This button is only available if the ProShip Options tab is displayed.

Last

Click this button to display the last customer shipping options record. This button is only available if the ProShip Options tab is displayed.

Show Data

Click this button to refresh data on the Inquiry tab. This button is only available if the Inquiry tab is displayed.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Type

Select whether the customer shipping options record is for a customer, shipping options group, or EDI trading partner.

Customer Code

Enter a customer code for which to create or display customer shipping options, or click the Lookup button to select a customer code. This field is only available if the Customer radio button is selected.

Customer Name

Enter a customer name for which to create or display customer shipping options, or click the Lookup button to select a customer name. This field is only available if the Customer radio button is selected.

Shipping Options Group

Enter a customer shipping options group for which to create or display customer shipping options, or click the Lookup button to select a customer shipping options group. This field is only available if the Shipping Options Group radio button is selected.

Description

This field displays the description of the selected customer shipping options group. This field is only available if the Shipping Options Group radio button is selected.

Trade ID

Enter an EDI trading partner trade ID for which to create or display customer shipping options, or click the Lookup button to select a trade ID. This field is only available if the Trading Partner radio button is selected.

Trade ID Name

Enter an EDI trading partner trade ID name for which to create or display customer shipping options, or click the Lookup button to select a trade ID name. This field is only available if the Trading Partner radio button is selected.

All (Ship-To Addresses)

Select this check box to create or display customer shipping options for all ship-to addresses of the selected customer. This check box is selected by default, and is only available if the Customer radio button is selected.

Ship To ID

Enter a ship-to address ID for which to create or display customer shipping options, or click the Lookup button to select a ship-to address ID. This field is only available if the Customer radio button is selected, and is only enabled if the All check box is cleared.

Ship To Name

Enter a ship-to address name for which to create or display customer shipping options, or click the Lookup button to select a ship-to address name. This field is only available if the Customer radio button is selected, and is only enabled if the All check box is cleared.

All (Distribution Centers)

Select this check box to create or display customer shipping options for all distribution centers of the selected trading partner. This check box is selected by default, and is only available if the Trading Partner radio button is selected.

Distribution Center ID

Enter a distribution center ID for which to create or display customer shipping options, or click the Lookup button to select a distribution center ID. This field is only available if the Trading Partner radio button is selected, and is only enabled if the All check box is cleared.

Distribution Center Name

Enter a distribution center name for which to create or display customer shipping options, or click the Lookup button to select a distribution center name. This field is only available if the Trading Partner radio button is selected, and is only enabled if the All check box is cleared.

Shipper Interface

Enter the shipper interface for the customer shipping options record, or click the Lookup button to select a shipper interface.

Location

These fields display the location prefix and name for the selected shipper interface.

Carrier

Enter the carrier (shipping company) to use for the customer shipping options record, or click the Lookup button to select a carrier. This field is only enabled if a ProShip shipper interface is selected.

Shipper ID

Enter the shipper ID for the customer shipping options record, or click the Lookup button to select a shipper ID. This field is only available if the Shipper radio button is selected.

Shipper Name

Enter the shipper name for the customer shipping options record, or click the Lookup button to select a shipper name. This field is only available if the Shipper radio button is selected.

Shipping Account ID

Enter the shipping account ID for the customer, customer shipping options group, or trading partner.

ProShip Options Tab Fields and Buttons

NOTE This tab is only enabled if a ProShip shipper interface is selected for the customer shipping options record.

ProShip Shipper

Enter the ProShip Shipper.

Tracking Label Print Option

Click the Lookup button to select whether to print tracking labels separately from pack slips.

Use Return Label Services

Select this check box to use return label services for the customer. If this is selected, return labels are printed so that a consumer can ship products back for returns. This check box is cleared by default.

ProShip Return Shipper

Enter the ProShip shipper for returns. This field is only enabled if the Use Return Label Services check box is selected.

Return Label Print option

Click the Lookup button to select whether to print tracking labels separately from pack slips for returns. This Lookup button is only enabled if the Use Return Label Services check box is selected.

Freight Formula

Enter a formula for freight if you want to adjust the freight amounts passed back from ProShip. The formula can use the following variables:

  • Total - This is the total freight from ProShip including accessories.

  • Base - This is the base rate from ProShip (the list or published rate).

  • Discount - This is the discount amount.

You can also use any node name (the value from a ProShip response node).

You can use the following operators: +, -, and *.

You can also use parenthesis and constant values.

EXAMPLE If you want to add 5% to the total freight, you can enter Total*1.05 in this field.

Per Package Add-on

Enter an add-on amount for each package. This is an additional fee for each package on a shipment.

Residential Delivery

Select this check box to indicate the shipper is delivering to a residential address.

Call Before Delivery

Select this check box to indicate the shipper must call before delivery.

Liftgate Delivery

Select this check box to indicate the shipper must use a liftgate for delivery.

Inside Delivery

Select this check box to indicate the shipper must perform inside delivery.

Signature Required

Select this check box to indicate the shipper must obtain a signature for delivery.

Address Type

Click the Lookup button to select an address type. You can select the following types:

  • Originator Address

  • Return Address

  • Third Party Freight Billing Address

Company Name

Enter the company name for the address.

Contact

Enter a contact name for the address.

Address 1

Enter the first line of the address.

Address 2

Enter the second line of the address.

City

Enter the city of the address, or click the Lookup button to select a city.

State/Province

Enter the state or province of the address, or click the Lookup button to select a state or province.

Postal Code

Enter the postal code of the address, or click the Lookup button to select a postal code.

NOTE If a postal code is not entered, the address is not sent to ProShip.

Country

Enter the country of the address, or click the Lookup button to select a country.

Phone

Enter the phone number of the address.

UPS Cloud Tab Fields and Buttons

NOTE This tab is only enabled if a UPS Cloud shipper interface is selected for the customer shipping options record.

Use UPS Cloud Return Shipping Services

Select this check box to use return label services for the customer. If this is selected, return labels are printed so that a consumer can ship products back for returns. This check box is cleared by default.
