To use Data Mapping, click the Data Mapping button in the ribbon in Lifecycle Task Maintenance.

Purpose

Map a product project task to a product field.
Map a product project user-defined grid column to a product unit of measure field.

Overview

Use Data Mapping to map data between product project tasks and product fields so that users can create new products during workflow data entry. You can also use it to map data between product project user-defined grid columns and product unit of measure fields so that users can create new product unit of measure records during workflow data entry.

If you are not creating or editing a task when you open this window, the window is in Inquiry mode, and only allows you to view mapped tasks.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Data Mapping window.
Show Data	Click this button to display data based on the selected criteria.

Filter Options Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Workflow Type	This field displays Product Project to indicate the workflow type for the data mapping.
Workflow Level	This field displays Product to indicate the workflow level for the data mapping.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Show Tasks	Select whether to display unmapped, mapped, or both mapped and unmapped tasks. This field is only available in Inquiry mode.
Show Fields	Select whether to display unmapped, mapped, or both mapped and unmapped fields. This field is only available in Inquiry mode.
Grid Columns	Select this check box to display mapping for user-defined grid columns. This check box is only available in Inquiry mode.
Tasks	This grid displays information for product project tasks. This grid is only available if you are mapping data for tasks.
Grid Columns	This grid displays grid columns for a product project grid task. This grid is only available if you are mapping data for user-defined grid task columns. Select a column you want to map, and then select the check box in the Map column in the Fields grid.
Tables	This grid displays the table for which fields are currently displayed for product project mapping.
Fields	This grid displays fields for product project mapping. If you are editing or creating a task, you can map a field to the task or a selected grid column by selecting the check box in the Map column. If you are mapping fields for a user-defined grid task, you can double-click a cell in the Grid Column column to select a column to map to a field. You can map a single task or grid column to multiple fields. Tasks or grid columns must be mapped to all required fields before users can create products and/or product units of measure with a related workflow. Note Unmapped, required fields are highlighted in red.
