Purpose

Overview

During new system startup or when new fields are added to the DW, use the Data Warehouse Update Utility to synchronize the existing or old data in the database in any of the following ways:

Use this method to synchronize small volumes of data. Select a specific type or all types of data and then click OK to prepare the necessary records for synchronization. This triggers the SA to run the synchronization process for the necessary records or transactions automatically.

Use this method to synchronize large volumes of data or when automated synchronization through SA is too slow.  Export the data to a file and load it manually into the DW. The export process involves using the Bulk Export option on the window. Specify a path and the system exports data to .csv files.

Exit

Click this button to close the Data Warehouse Update Utility window.

OK

Click this button to prepare necessary records for synchronization or generate .csv files for bulk load.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

All Records

Select this check box to select all the records and transactions. This check box is only enabled if you have cleared the Bulk Export check box.

Record

Click the Lookup button to select a specific record or transaction. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Records check box to the left of it.

All Dates

Select this check box if you do not want to limit the records or transactions being synchronized to a specific range of dates. This check box is only enabled if you have selected Invoice or Order in the Record field.

From Date

Enter the first date in a range of dates for which to limit the records or transactions being synchronized, or click the drop-down arrow to select the date. This check box is only enabled if you have selected Invoice or Order in the Record field and cleared the All Dates check box.

To Date

Enter the last date in a range of dates for which to limit the records or transactions being synchronized, or click the drop-down arrow to select the date. This check box is only enabled if you have selected Invoice or Order in the Record field and cleared the All Dates check box.

Bulk Export

Select this check box to export all records and transactions in bulk.

Output Path

Enter the location and folder name to store all the .csv files that are exported for all the record or transaction types, or click the Lookup button to navigate to and select a location and folder. This field is only enabled if you have selected the Bulk Export check box to the left of it.
