Question: How do I set up the Wireless Warehouse cycle count rules hierarchy?

Answer: The hierarchy is set up in Wireless Warehouse Control Maintenance, and should be set up to fit the requirements of your warehouse. The following examples illustrate several scenarios for setting up the cycle count rules hierarchy.

Example for the Count Display Rule

When Wireless Warehouse user Tom is counting any product in location NJ, in zone A, you want to allow him to view the system on-hand quantity on his handheld device. Also, you want any Wireless Warehouse user counting product 123 in location NJ to be able to view the system on-hand quantity on their handheld device. Set up the rules, as follows:

Example for the Recount Display Rule

When Wireless Warehouse user Bill is recounting any product in any zone in location NJ, you want to allow him to view the system on-hand quantity on his handheld device. Also, you want any Wireless Warehouse user counting any product in location CA to be able to view the system on-hand quantity on their handheld device. Set up the rules, as follows:

Example for the Recount Required Rule

Product ABC is very expensive, so any time there is a cycle count discrepancy, you want to recount the product. Also, the X team is not very reliable, so whenever there is a cycle count discrepancy for a count they have done, you want to perform a recount. Set up the rules, as follows:

Example for the Recount Variance % Rule

Product ABC is very expensive, so any time there is a cycle count discrepancy, you want to recount it if the variance is at least 1%. Product XYZ is very inexpensive, so any time there is a cycle count discrepancy, you want to only recount it if the variance is at least 20%. For all other products in locations NJ and CA, you want to only recount it if the variance is at least 10%. Set up the rules, as follows:
