DRP FAQ

Question: I have a product that I want to ship once to a customer. How do I prevent DRP from calculating replenishment and forecasts for the product?

Answer: You can first set up the product as a nonstocked product, and DRP will ignore it for forecasting. After you have shipped the product to your customer, you can mark it as discontinued and it will no long be visible in DRP windows.

Question: How can I prevent a user from entering a product forecast for a product? How can I prevent APR from being calculated for a product?

Answer: In Product Location Maintenance, select the Discontinued check box on the Warehouse tab for the product/location. Discontinued products are ignored for DRP calculations. Users cannot enter a forecast for discontinued products and APR is not calculated for discontinued products.

Question: Do drop-ship orders affect DRP calculations?

Answer: By default, drop-ship orders have no impact on DRP calculations (there are no warehouse transactions associated with a drop-ship order). However, if you want to include drop-ship orders in DRP calculations, you can change the Include Drop Ship S/O P/O parameter to YES for the reorder quantity method of a buying method used for products.
