Security FAQ

Question: While using a previous version of Apprise, we set up security by user. When we upgraded to the current version, we decided to switch to group security. We defined groups and added them to users thinking the groups would wipe out the user security. However, all the user security records in the pgm-security table remained in place. Now we have a mixture of user and group security. How can we fix this?

Answer: Set up each user in a group and then go to the Set Default Security Access Maintenance and select Remove Security (Use Default) for the user ID’s. Additional menu options can then be added by user ID. For more information, see User/Group Security Setup Diagram.

Question: What does the Allowed to Access All Years check box do in User Profile Maintenance?

Answer: Select this check box for a user ID to allow the user to select years in the system other than the current open year. This is useful if users will need to access year(s) other than just the current year for sales history, inquiries, or reports.
