Question: What happens to the General Ledger module if you attempt to post an unbalanced journal entry that originates in one of the other modules?
Answer: The General Ledger module will not allow an unbalanced journal entry to be posted. If for some reason (for example, a missing valid general ledger account number) a journal entry from another module (other than the General Ledger module) is unbalanced, an unbalanced posting message displays and a detailed report is created. After the unbalanced condition is corrected, the transaction can then be posted to the General Ledger module.
