Purpose

Maintain 1099 form types.
Maintain reporting boxes for 1099 form types.

Overview

Use Form 1099 Reporting Box Maintenance to add, update, or delete 1099 form types for suppliers that require 1099 tax forms. You can also set up reporting boxes for each 1099 form type.

1099 tax forms can be filed with the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS). For more information on 1099 form types, refer to www.irs.gov/instructions/index.html.

Note You can only print to form types created in this window if you use 1099 Express™. You cannot use this functionality with 1099 forms printed in Form 1099 Print.

Creating 1099 Form Types

To define a new 1099 form type:

Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter the 1099 form type in the 1099 Form Type field.
Enter reporting box information in the Reporting Box, Reporting Box Label, and Description fields, and then click the Add button. Repeat this for each reporting box for the 1099 form type.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The 1099 form type is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Form 1099 Reporting Box window.
New	Click this button to create a new 1099 form type.
Update	Click this button to update the selected 1099 form type.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected 1099 form type.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first 1099 form type.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous 1099 form type.
Next	Click this button to display the next 1099 form type.
Last	Click this button to display the last 1099 form type.

Enter a 1099 form type, or click the Lookup button to select an existing 1099 form type.

Description

Enter a description of the 1099 form type.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Reporting Box	Enter the reporting box, or click the Lookup button to select a reporting box.
Reporting Box Label	Enter a label for the reporting box.
Description	Enter a description of the reporting box.
Add	Click this button to add the reporting box to the 1099 form type.
Remove	Click this button to remove the selected reporting box in the Reporting Boxes grid from the 1099 form type.
Reporting Boxes	This grid displays reporting boxes for the selected 1099 form type. Double-click a reporting box to displaying information for the reporting box above the grid.
