Date and Calendar

You can access the calendar by clicking the drop-down arrow in any date field. The date field also shows the abbreviated day of the week (for example, Sun for Sunday). The following table summarizes additional methods of entering dates.

Entry in a Date Field

Function

C

Displays the calendar.

T

Enters today’s date.

E

Enters 12/31/2999. This is useful for entering the last date in a range of dates so that you are certain that all future data is displayed.

+ (plus sign)

Every time the + sign is entered, the date increments by one day.

- (minus sign)

Every time the - sign is entered, the date decrements by one day.

Up arrow

Increases the date by one day, month, or year based on the position of the cursor.

Down arrow

Decreases the date by one day, month, or year based on the position of the cursor.

Click Calendar Month

This displays a list of calendar months that can be selected.

Click Calendar Year

This displays a list of calendar years that can be selected.

Click Calendar Decade

This displays a list of calendar decades that can be selected.

Month and Day entry

If you only enter the month and day and tab out of a date field, the current year is automatically entered. This reduces keystrokes because only four keystrokes are needed to enter a date in the current year instead of six.

Example 12/20/20 can be entered as 1220 if the current year is 2020.
