Purpose

Open a new inventory posting year.

Overview

Use Inventory Year Create to create new inventory years. At the end of the accounting year, you must manually close the year after opening the new one.

Note The inventory year you want to open must already exist in the general ledger. Use General Ledger Year Create to open a new year in the General Ledger module. When you open a new general ledger year, forward balances and retained earnings are calculated.

To open a new inventory year, enter a new year and click the OK button in the ribbon.

Note Creating a new year does not close the previous current year. You must use Inventory Year Close to close a year.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Inventory Year Create window.
OK	Click this button to create the new inventory accounting year.

This field displays the current accounting year.

New Year

Enter the accounting year you are opening.

Note Opening a new year does not change the default accounting year.
