Purpose

Launch a program window.

Overview

Use Launch Screen to launch any program or utility in the software with or without parameters.

Note You cannot launch a program or utility if you do not have permission to use it.

Launching Programs

To launch a program:

Enter the name of the program you want to launch in the Screen Name field.
If parameters are required for the program, select the Parameters radio button, then enter the parameters, as follows:
1. Enter a number for the parameter in the Param Number field (1 for the first parameter, 2 for the second parameter, etc.).
2. Select the type of data stored for the parameter.
3. Enter the value of the parameter in the Param Value field.
4. Click the Add Parameter button.
5. Repeat substeps a to d for each parameter.
Click the Launch Screen button in the ribbon. The window associated with the program you entered in step 1 appears.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Launch Screen window.
Launch Screen	Click this button to display the window for the program entered in the Screen Name field.
Clear Screen	Click this button to clear all fields in the Launch Screen window.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Screen Name	Enter the program file name that you want to launch. Example To launch Inventory Matrix Inquiry, enter the following: icmatinv.r
Parameters/No Parameters	Select whether you want to use any parameters when you launch the program specified in the Screen Name field.
Param Number	Enter the parameter sequence number. This field is only available if you select the Parameters radio button.
Param Type	Select the type of parameter to use for launching the program. These radio buttons are only available if you select the Parameters radio button.
Param Value	Enter the value for the parameter. This field is only available if you select the Parameters radio button.
Add Parameter	Click this button to add a parameter to the Parameters grid. This button is only available if you select the Parameters radio button.
Delete Parameter	Click this button to delete a parameter selected in the Parameters grid. This button is only available if you select the Parameters radio button.
Resequence	Click this button to update the parameter numbers of parameters in the Parameters grid so that the numbers are 1, 2, 3, etc. This is useful if you have deleted parameters or assigned parameter numbers that are not in sequence. This button is only available if you select the Parameters radio button.
Parameters	This grid displays parameters that will be used when you launch the program specified in the Screen Name field. This grid is only available if you select the Parameters radio button. Double-click a parameter to display the settings for it above the grid. You can then edit the parameter settings, and click the Add Parameter button to change the parameter settings.
