Purpose

Enter, view, edit, or delete buying methods.

Overview

Use Min-Max Buying Maintenance to define and edit buying ID's used to create buying information. A buying ID specifies a range of products that will be included in the buying process. A user can create buying ID's for specific suppliers (or all suppliers), locations, and internal buyers. If you create buying information based on a buying ID, the buying information only contains products that match the criteria of the buying ID.

Note To buy products using the purchase order buying process, the product buying method must be Min-Max. Products not marked in this fashion at the location level are not included in any buying processes.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Min-Max Buying Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new buying method.
Update	Click this button to update the selected buying method.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected buying method.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first buying method.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous buying method.
Next	Click this button to display the next buying method.
Last	Click this button to display the last buying method.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Buying ID	Enter the buying method ID, or click the Lookup button to select a buying method ID.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
All	Select this check box to include all suppliers in the buying method. This check box is cleared by default.
Supplier Code	Enter a supplier code to include in the buying method, or click the Lookup button to select a supplier code. This field is only enabled if you clear the All check box.
Name	Enter a supplier name to include in the buying method, or click the Lookup button to select a supplier name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All check box.
Location Prefix	Enter a location prefix to include in the buying method, or click the Lookup button to select a location prefix. The buying method will only be used for products at the specified location.
Location Name	Enter a location name to include in the buying method, or click the Lookup button to select a location name. The buying method will only be used for products at the specified location.
Internal Buyer	Enter a user ID of a buyer to include in the buying method, or click the Lookup button to select a user ID. The buying method will only be used for products ordered by the specified buyer.
Do Not Recommend Purchases That Exceed Max Qty	Select this check box to prevent orders for more than the maximum stock level when in Min-Max Buying Recommendations. This check box is cleared by default.
All Supplier Items/Items Below Minimum	Select one of the following options: All Supplier Items - Display all products for a supplier in Min-Max Buying Recommendations. This is useful when you are trying to round out an order to meet minimums. Items Below Minimum - Display only products that are below the minimum stock level in Min-Max Buying Recommendations.
