Purpose

Set up valid National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) numbers for bills of lading.

Overview

Use National Motor Freight Classification Maintenance to classify and group products being shipped on common carriers for bill of lading printing purposes, according to GS1. NMFC numbers can be associated with products on the Warehouse tab in Product Maintenance. For more information, refer to http://www.gs1us.org/industries/apparel-general-merchandise.

Exit

Click this button to close the National Motor Freight Classification Maintenance window.

New

Click this button to create a new NMFC number.

Update

Click this button to update the selected NMFC number.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected NMFC number.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

First

Click this button to display the first NMFC number.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous NMFC number.

Next

Click this button to display the next NMFC number.

Last

Click this button to display the last NMFC number.

NMFC Number

Enter an NMFC number (according to the VICS standards), or click the Lookup button to select an NMFC number.

Freight Class

Enter the freight class for the NMFC number, according to the VICS standards.

Commodity Description

Enter a description of the commodity for the NMFC number. The description prints on bills of lading that use the NMFC number.
