Defining Custom Tab Orders

You can use the Tab key to move the cursor between fields while performing data entry. Apprise enables you to customize the Tab order, so that the Tab key moves the cursor only to the fields that you need, and in the order that is most efficient for your work. You can customize the Tab order independently in each window.

To define a custom Tab order:

  1. In the window in which you want to define a custom Tab order, click the File menu, and select Customize Images\bluerarw.gif Custom Tab Order Images\bluerarw.gif Define Custom Tab Order. A message appears at the bottom of the window to indicate you are customizing the Tab order.

  2. Right-click the first field in which you want to perform data entry, and select Tab Jump Forward.

Note You can instead select Tab Jump Backward if you want to set up a backward Tab order. A backward Tab order controls the order of fields when you press Shift+Tab.

  1. Right-click the next field in which you want to perform data entry, and select Land Here. A forward or backward jump is created for the custom Tab order.

  2. Repeat steps 2-3 for all fields you want to include in the custom Tab order.

If you want to clear a forward or backward jump, right-click a field, and select Clear Forward Jump or Clear Backward Jump.

  1. When your custom Tab order is complete, right-click any field, and select Done.

If you want to reset to the default Tab order, click the File menu, and select Customize Images\bluerarw.gif Custom Tab Order Images\bluerarw.gif Reset Custom Tab Order.

You can view the custom Tab order for a window in Custom Tab Order Inquiry.
