Purpose

Overview

Use Product Line Maintenance to set up product lines. Product lines are used by the Business Intelligence module to analyze the performance of product lines, styles, sizes, and colors. You can use the Inquiry tab in Product Line Maintenance to view information for existing product lines. You can also import product lines in Product Line Import.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button

Description

Exit

Click this button to close the Product Line Maintenance window.

New

Click this button to create a new product line.

Update

Click this button to update the selected product line.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected product line.

Show Data

Click this button to display data in the Product Lines grid based on the selected criteria. This button is only available after you click the Inquiry tab.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

First

Click this button to display the first product line.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous product line.

Next

Click this button to display the next product line.

Last

Click this button to display the last product line.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Product Line

Enter a product line, or click the Lookup button to select a product line.

Name (Product Line)

Enter a product line name.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Description

Sort Seq

Enter the sequence that the product line appears in Lookup windows.

Primary Supplier Code

Enter the supplier code of the primary supplier of the product line, or click the Lookup button to select a supplier code. For information on setting up suppliers, see Supplier Maintenance.

Name (Primary Supplier)

Enter the supplier name of the primary supplier of the product line, or click the Lookup button to select a supplier name. For information on setting up suppliers, see Supplier Maintenance.

Display in Lookups

Select this check box to allow the product line to appear in Lookup windows.

Status

Select the status of the product line. Select one of the following options:

  • Setup - You are in the process of setting up product styles and do not want this product line to be available for use yet.

  • Active - The product line is currently active.

  • Discontinued - All product styles and related products are discontinued for the product line.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Note This tab is disabled if you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Field or Button

All (Product Line Status)

Select this check box to display product lines of all statuses. This check box is selected by default.

Setup

Select this check box if you want to display setup product lines. This check box is only enabled if you clear the All check box.

Active

Select this check box if you want to display active product lines. This check box is only enabled if you clear the All check box.

Discontinued

Select this check box if you want to display discontinued product lines. This check box is only enabled if you clear the All check box.

All (Suppliers)

Select this check box to display product lines for all suppliers. This check box is selected by default.

Code

Enter the primary supplier code for which you want to display product lines, or click the Lookup button to select a supplier code. This field is only enabled if you clear the All check box.

Name (Supplier)

Enter the primary supplier name for which you want to display product lines, or click the Lookup button to select a supplier name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All check box.

Product Lines

This grid displays product lines based on the selected criteria after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Double-click a product line to select it.
