Purpose

Enter, view, edit, or delete safety stock methods.

Overview

Use Safety Stock Method Maintenance to set up calculations to determine safety stock quantity requirements. Safety stock methods are used to construct buying methods.

You can build standard and custom safety stock quantity methods based on different safety stock parameters and safety stock logic.

Exit

Click this button to close the Safety Stock Method Maintenance window.

New

Click this button to create a new safety stock method.

Update

Click this button to update the selected safety stock method.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected safety stock method.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

First

Click this button to display the first safety stock method.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous safety stock method.

Next

Click this button to display the next safety stock method.

Last

Click this button to display the last safety stock method.

Method Name

Enter the safety stock method name, or click the Lookup button to select a safety stock method.

System Default

Select this check box if this is the default safety stock method.

Short Description

Enter a brief description of the safety stock method.

Detailed Description

Enter a detailed description of the safety stock method.

Use to Determine Best Fit

This check box is slated for functionality in a future release.

Program Name

Enter the program name used to perform calculations for this safety stock method.

Note Program names are supplied by Apprise. Do not use any name that has not been approved by Apprise. For more information, see DRP - Safety Stock Method FAQ.

Parameters

This grid displays calculation parameters used to perform safety stock calculations.

Name

This field displays the selected parameter name. Parameters are used as part of the safety stock quantity method calculations.

Note Parameter names are supplied by Apprise. Do not use any parameter name that has not been assigned by Apprise. For more information, see DRP - Safety Stock Method FAQ.

Example % of time periods is a valid safety stock quantity parameter.

Type

This field displays the type of field (character, integer, decimal, date, or logical) associated with the selected parameter. This is specified only by Apprise. For more information, see DRP - Safety Stock Method FAQ.

Value

Enter the default value for the selected parameter in the Parameters grid, or click the Lookup button to select a default value. For more information, see DRP - Safety Stock Method FAQ.

Example For the % of time periods parameter that is a type of Decimal, a default value is 50.0.

Note This default value can be changed when setting up a buying method.

New

Click this button to create a new parameter for the safety stock method. This button is only enabled if you are creating a new safety stock method, or updating a safety stock method that is not a system default.

Update

Click this button to update the selected parameter for the safety stock method.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected parameter for the safety stock method. This button is only enabled if you are creating a new safety stock method, or updating a safety stock method that is not a system default.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button.
