Purpose

Add, update, or delete a sales tax category.

Overview

Use Sales Tax Category Maintenance to define groups of products solely for sales tax purposes. When creating a new product in Product Maintenance, a sales tax category is required. For more information, see Sales Tax FAQ.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Sales Tax Category Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new sales tax category.
Update	Click this button to edit the selected sales tax category.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected sales tax category.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first sales tax category.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous sales tax category.
Next	Click this button to display the next sales tax category.
Last	Click this button to display the last sales tax category.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Sales Tax Category	Enter a sales tax category, or click the Lookup button to select an existing sales tax category.

Short Description	Enter a short description of the sales tax category.
Detailed Description	Enter a detailed description of the sales tax category.
