Purpose

Copy user preferences to another user or user group.

Overview

Use User Preferences Copy Utility to copy user preferences, such as alerts, favorites, or dashboards from one user to another user or user group. When copying alerts and/or KPIs, alert/KPI security settings are also copied.

Copying user preferences overwrites existing user preferences.

Copying User Preferences

To copy user preferences:

Enter a user ID or name from which to copy user preferences in the COPY FROM section.
Select whether to copy to a user or user group.
Enter a user ID, user name, or user group to which to copy user preferences in the COPY TO section.
Select a type of user preference you want to copy in the Available User Preferences grid, and click the right arrow button. Repeat this for all user preferences types you want to copy.
Click the Copy button in the ribbon. The Question dialog box appears, and asks you to confirm whether you want to continue.
Click the Yes button. The user preferences are copied.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the User Preferences Copy Utility window.
Copy	Click this button to copy the selected user preferences types from the selected user to the selected user or user group.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
User ID (Copy From)	Enter a user ID from which to copy user settings, or click the Lookup button to select a user ID.
User Name (Copy From)	Enter a user name from which to copy user settings, or click the Lookup button to select a user name.
Single User/User Group	Select whether to copy user settings to a specific user or a user group.
User ID (Copy To)	Enter a user ID to which to copy user settings, or click the Lookup button to select a user ID. This field is only available if the Single User radio button is selected.
User Name (Copy To)	Enter a user name to which to copy user settings, or click the Lookup button to select a user name. This field is only available if the Single User radio button is selected.
User Group	Enter a user group to which to copy user settings, or click the Lookup button to select a user group. This field is only available if the User Group radio button is selected.
Available User Preferences	This grid displays user preferences types that are not selected for copying. To select a type to copy, double-click it, or click it, and then click the right arrow button.
	Click this button to add the selected user preferences type to the Selected User Preferences grid.
	Click this button to add all user preferences types in the Available User Preferences grid to the Selected User Preferences grid.
	Click this button to remove the selected user preferences type from the Selected User Preferences grid.
	Click this button to remove all user preferences types from the Selected User Preferences grid.
Selected User Preferences	This grid displays the user preference types you are copying. To remove a type, double-click it, or click it, and then click the left arrow button.
