Purpose

Set up and maintain drivers.

Overview

Use Driver Maintenance to create, edit, and delete driver records for each driver that delivers products. Creating drivers allows you to track driver commissions.

Creating Drivers

To create a driver:

  1. Click the New button in the ribbon.

  2. Enter a unique ID for the driver in the Driver ID field.

  3. If the driver is not active, clear the Active check box.

  4. If you want to include the driver in a driver commission group, enter the group in the Driver Commission Group field.

  5. Enter the driver's name in the First Name and Last Name fields.

  6. Enter the driver's address and contact information.

  7. Click the OK button in the ribbon. The driver is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button

Description

Exit

Click this button to close the Driver Maintenance window.

New

Click this button to create a new driver. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Update

Click this button to edit the selected driver. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected driver. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Show Data

Click this button to display drivers on the Inquiry tab. This button is only available if the Inquiry tab is displayed.

First

Click this button to display the first driver. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous driver. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Next

Click this button to display the next driver. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Last

Click this button to display the last driver. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Driver ID

Enter a unique driver ID, or click the Lookup button to select an existing driver ID.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Description

Active

Select this check box if the driver is active. This check box is selected by default. Only active drivers are displayed in Driver Commission Group Maintenance.

Driver Commission Group

Enter a driver commission group for the driver, or click the Lookup button to select a driver commission group. For information on setting up driver commission groups, see Driver Commission Group Maintenance.

First Name

Enter the driver's first name.

Last Name

Enter the driver's last name.

Address 1

Enter the first line of the driver's address.

Address 2

Enter the second line of the driver's address.

Address 3

Enter the third line of the driver's address.

City

Enter the city of the driver's address, or click the Lookup button to select a city. For information on setting up cities, see Postal Code Maintenance. This field can default from the postal code if the postal code is set up in Postal Code Maintenance.

State/Province

Enter the state or province of the driver's address, or click the Lookup button to select a state or province. This field can default from the postal code if the postal code is set up in Postal Code Maintenance. This field’s label can be set up in Country Maintenance.

Postal Code

Enter the postal code of the driver's address, or click the Lookup button to select a postal code. If you set up the postal code in Postal Code Maintenance, the appropriate data is entered in the City, County, and State/Province fields when you enter the postal code. The format of the postal code is set up for the country in Country Maintenance, and can optionally be set up to be validated.

Country

Enter the country of the driver's address, or click the Lookup button to select a country. The country controls the format and/or validation of the postal code, the format of the phone fields, and the label for the State/Province field. For information on setting up countries, see Country Maintenance.

County

Enter the county of the driver's address. This field can default from the postal code if the postal code is set up in Postal Code Maintenance.

Phone #

Enter the driver's telephone number. The format of the telephone number is set up in Country Maintenance.

Cell Phone #

Enter the driver's cell phone number. The format of the telephone number is set up in Country Maintenance.

Fax #

Enter the driver's fax number. The format of the fax number is set up in Country Maintenance.

Email

Enter the email address of the driver.

Note This tab is disabled if you are creating, editing, or deleting a driver.

This grid displays drivers after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Double-click a driver to select it and display information for it on the Main tab.
