Purpose

Set up and maintain automated Wireless Warehouse cycle count schedules.

Overview

Use Automated Wireless Cycle Count Scheduling to view, create, edit, and delete automated Wireless Warehouse cycle count schedules. Each schedule is used to automatically create product count tasks on a regular basis. You can create a specific schedule for all products, or create a schedule for a specific cycle count class, product category, product subcategory, or product style. The schedule can also be for a single zone or all zones in a shipping location.

Note Scheduling Assistant is used to create cycle count tasks and to mark rounds of tasks as completed.

Creating Automated Cycle Count Schedules

To create an automated cycle count schedule:

  1. Click the New button in the ribbon.

  2. Enter a shipping location prefix or name for which to create cycle count tasks in the Shipping Location or Name field.

  3. Enter a code to identify the schedule in the Schedule Code field. The code must be unique for the shipping location.

  4. Select options for the schedule.

  5. Click the OK button in the ribbon. The schedule is created.

Click this button to close the Automated Wireless Cycle Count Scheduling window.

New

Click this button to create a new cycle count schedule.

Update

Click this button to edit the selected cycle count schedule.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected cycle count schedule.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Create Cycle Count Task Manually

Click this button to display Create Scheduled Cycle Count Tasks, which allows you to manually create cycle count tasks for a specified number of days.

Cycle Count Task Management

Click this button to display Cycle Count Task Management, which allows you to manage cycle count tasks.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Shipping Location

Enter a shipping location prefix in which to perform cycle counting, or click the Lookup button to select a shipping location prefix.

Name

Enter a shipping location name in which to perform cycle counting, or click the Lookup button to select a shipping location name.

Schedule Code

Enter a code for the cycle count schedule. This must be unique for the specified location.

Product Grouping

Select a method of selecting the products to be counted. The grouping you select changes the available filter options for the schedule.

Daily Task Calculation

Select whether tasks are created automatically or manually for the schedule.

All (Zones)

Select this check box to schedule cycle counting for all zones. This check box is selected by default.

Zone

Enter a zone for which to create cycle count tasks for the schedule, or click the Lookup button to select a zone. This field is only enabled if you clear the All check box to the left of it.

All (Cycle Classes/Categories/Product Lines/Product Styles/Products)

Select this check box to schedule cycle count tasks for all cycle count classes, product categories, product lines, product styles, or products. This check box is selected by default.

Cycle Class Code/Category Code/Product Line Code/Product Style/Product Code

Enter a cycle count class code, product category code, product line code, product style, or product code based, or click the Lookup button to select a style or code. The label and data entered in this field are based on the selected Product Grouping option. This field is only enabled if you clear the All check box to the left of it.

All (Subcategory Codes)

Select this check box to schedule cycle count tasks for all product subcategories. This check box is selected by default, only available if you select the Subcategory radio button, and only enabled if you clear the All check box above it to specify a product category.

Subcategory Code

Enter a subcategory code for which to schedule cycle count tasks, or click the Lookup button to select a subcategory code. This field is only enabled if you clear the All check box to the left of it.

Count Frequency

Enter the number of days between rounds of cycle counting for the schedule. Specific tasks are created during this period of days based on the values entered in the Number of Daily Tasks and Create Tasks X Days Ahead fields.

Example Enter 30 if you want all cycle count tasks for the schedule to be performed every 30 days. If 6 is entered in the Number of Daily Tasks field, six tasks are created each day during the 30 days, which means there are 180 tasks for each round of counting for the schedule.

Maximum Open Tasks

Enter the maximum number of open cycle count tasks for the schedule.

Number of Daily Tasks

Enter the number of cycle count tasks to create for each day. You can click the Calculate button to automatically calculate this value based on the number of counted products, the number of counted zones, and the count frequency.

Calculate

Click this button to calculate the number of daily tasks for the schedule. When you click this button, the number of daily tasks is calculated as:

((number of products to count) x (number of zones in which to count)) / count frequency

Example If you are counting 90 products in 2 zones every 30 days, the number of daily tasks is calculated as (90 x 2) / 30 = 6

Create Tasks X Days Ahead

Enter the number of days before a cycle count task is performed to create a cycle count task.

Example Enter 1 to create tasks 1 day before the tasks are actually performed.

Start Date

Enter the first date to start counting for the schedule, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date.

Scheduling Assistant Queue

Enter an active Scheduling Assistant queue for the task, or click the Lookup button to select a Scheduling Assistant queue. This defaults to the default queue for your user ID. This field is only enabled if you select the Schedule radio button, and you are assigned to a queue other than the Default queue.

Automatically Start Next Round

Select this check box to automatically start a new cycle count round if the current round for the schedule is finished. If you leave this check box cleared, a new round must be started manually in Cycle Count Task Management.

Hold Automatic Task Creation

Select this check box to prevent automatic cycle count tasks from being created for the schedule on a daily basis. If you select this check box, tasks must be manually created.

Hold all Open Tasks

Select this check box to put all cycle count tasks created for the schedule on hold.

This grid displays information for previously created automated Wireless Warehouse cycle count schedules. Double-click a schedule to select it.
