Set up and maintain shipping container types.
Use Container Type Maintenance to create, edit, delete, and view container types. Containers are assigned a specific container type to describe the characteristics and size of the container. You can use container types with the Goal Seek feature to optimize purchasing. For information on using the Goal Seek feature, see Using Goal Seek.
To create a new container type:
Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter a code for the container type in the Container Type Code field.
Enter a description of the container type in the Description field.
Enter the dimensions and specifications of containers in the container type.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The container type is created.

Enter the minimum weight that can be stored in containers of this container type in the unit of measure entered in the Weight U/M field. |

Enter the maximum weight that can be stored in containers of this container type in the unit of measure entered in the Weight U/M field. |

Enter the unit of measure for the Maximum Weight and Minimum Weight fields, or click the Lookup button to select a unit of measure. |

Enter the minimum volume that can be stored in containers of this container type in the unit of measure entered in the Cube U/M field. |

Enter the maximum volume that can be stored in containers of this container type in the unit of measure entered in the Cube U/M field. |

Enter the unit of measure for the Minimum Cube and Maximum Cube fields, or click the Lookup button to select a unit of measure. |

Enter the minimum quantity of product units that can be stored in containers of this container type. |

Enter the maximum quantity of product units that can be stored in containers of this container type. |
