Purpose

Overview

Use Customer Special Product Analysis to view sales for products that have been assigned a special product code. You can view data for a specific month and year or a range of months and years. Special product tracking is initiated by targeting a customer and setting up a special product code for the product.

Note Data is only displayed for orders that have been invoiced and for which the invoices have been posted to the general ledger.

Viewing Special Product Data

To view data for a special product code:

  1. Enter a special product code in the Special Product Code field.

  2. Enter a range of months and years for which you want to display data in the From Date and To Date fields.

  3. If you want to display data for a single customer, enter a customer code or name in the Customer Code or Name field. If you want to display data for all customers, select the All Customers check box.

  4. If you are displaying data for all customers and want to position data for a specific customer at the top of the grid, enter the customer name in the Reposition to field.

  5. If you want to display data for customers that did not purchase or return the product during the selected period, select the Include Customers with Zero Activity check box.

  6. Click the Show Data button in the ribbon to display data in the grid.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Special Product Code

Enter the special product code for the product for which you want to view sales data. This code is an alphanumeric code assigned to products that require tracking by customer or sales representative. It is also used for tracking co-op sales products. For more information, see Co-op Sales Process Flow.

From Date

Enter the first month and year in a range of dates for which to display data, or click the Lookup buttons to select a month and year. This defaults to the current open period and year.

To Date

Enter the last month and year in a range of dates for which to display data, or click the Lookup buttons to select a month and year. This defaults to the current open period and year.

All Customers

Select this check box to display data for all customers. This check box is cleared by default.

Customer Code

Enter a customer code for which to display data, or click the Lookup button to select a customer code. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Customers check box.

Name

Enter a customer name for which to display data, or click the Lookup button to select a customer name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Customers check box.

Reposition to

Enter a customer name if you are displaying data for all customers and want to display data for a specific customer at the top of the Customer Sales grid.

Include Customers with Zero Activity

Select this check box to display data for customers that did not purchase or return the product during the selected period.

Customer Sales

This grid displays sales data for the selected special product code. The grid includes the following columns:

  • Net Amount

  • Customer Code

  • Territory

  • State

  • Sales Representative Name

  • Sales Representative ID

  • Sales Team ID

  • Sales Representative 2 Name

  • Sales Representative 2 ID

  • Sales Team 2 ID

  • Amount Sold

  • Amount Returned

  • Net Units

  • Customer Name

  • Units Sold

  • Units Returned

The data displayed in this grid includes amount sold, amount returned, net amount, units sold, and units returned values only after invoices are posted to the general ledger.
