Batch

Batch numbers allow you to group transactions (invoices, payments, etc.) together for general ledger posting, inquiries, or reports.

All accounting-related transactions require a batch number, and each transaction type maintains a separate batch number sequence.

If you post to the general ledger by batch, you can compare expected and actual batch totals and prevent posting if there is a discrepancy.

Ribbon buttons can be used to select, open, close, or edit a batch. The Open button allows you to open a new batch. The Select button allows you to select from a list of open batches. The Edit button allows you to modify the expected batch totals and descriptions only. The Close button allows you to close open batches.

The ability to open and close batches can be restricted by user in User Profile Maintenance. The Open Batch, Edit Batch, and Close Batch buttons are only available if your username has access to open, edit, or close batches.

Batch Management allows you to verify batches by batch type such as general ledger journal entries, accounts receivable invoices and receipts, accounts payable vouchers and payments, and inventory. It is also used in reopening closed batches, closing open batches, updating batches, and viewing batch details.
