Purpose

Enter, view, edit, or delete excess alert methods.

Overview

Use Excess Alert Method Maintenance to set up calculations to determine excess alert requirements. Excess alerts are used to inform you of a projected excess on hand inventory, so you can prevent such situations. Excess alert methods are used to construct buying methods in Buying Method Maintenance.

You can build standard and custom excess alert methods based on different excess alert parameters and excess alert logic.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Excess Alert Method Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new excess alert method.
Update	Click this button to update the selected excess alert method.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected excess alert method.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first excess alert method.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous excess alert method.
Next	Click this button to display the next excess alert method.
Last	Click this button to display the last excess alert method.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Method Name	Enter the excess alert method name, or click the Lookup button to select an excess alert method.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
System Default	Select this check box if this is the default excess alert method.
Short Description	Enter a brief description of the excess alert method.
Detailed Description	Enter a detailed description of the excess alert method.
Use to Determine Best Fit	This check box is slated for functionality in a future release.
Program Name	Enter the program name used to perform calculations for the excess alert method. Note Program names are supplied by Apprise. Do not use any name that has not been approved by Apprise.
Parameters	This grid displays calculation parameters used to perform excess alert calculations.
Name	This field displays the selected parameter name. Parameters are used as part of the excess alert method calculations. Note Parameter names are supplied by Apprise. Do not use any parameter name that has not been assigned by Apprise.
Type	This field displays the type of field (character, integer, decimal, date, or logical) associated with the selected parameter. This is specified only by Apprise.
Value	Enter the default value for the selected parameter in the Parameters grid, or click the Lookup button to select a default value. Note This default value can be changed when setting up a buying method.
New	Click this button to create a new parameter for the excess alert method. This button is only enabled if you are creating a new excess alert method, or updating an excess alert method that is not a system default.
Update	Click this button to update the selected parameter for the excess alert method.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected parameter for the excess alert method. This button is only enabled if you are creating a new excess alert method, or updating an excess alert method that is not a system default.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button.
