Question: If gross margin testing is turned on for a product/location, does it perform this test all of the time?
Answer: No. This test can be bypassed at the order class or price matrix level, as follows:
Order class level - Select the Ignore Margin Check check box in Order Class Maintenance.
Price matrix level - Select the Ignore Margin Check check box in a price record. Price records are created in various programs available on the Pricing submenu in the Customer Service module.
The valid margin test options are:
Ignore Margins: Do not verify minimum and maximum sales margin rules and allow the product to be ordered.
Place on Hold: Verify minimum and maximum sales margin rules based on the percentages defined in the Min Margin % and Max Margin % fields. If either of the rules fail, a warning message appears and the customer's order is placed on hold. It can be released from hold only in Margin Hold Management.
Give Warning: Verify minimum and maximum sales margin rules based on the percentages defined in the Min Margin % and Max Margin % fields. If either of the rules fail, a warning message appears. You then have the option to continue processing or to reject the item from being ordered.
