Quote Orders FAQ

Question: How is the quote expiration date on a quote order calculated?

Answer: The quote expiration date is calculated based on the integer value entered in the Days until Quote Expires field on the Order Entry tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance. For example, if 30 is entered in the Days until Quote Expires field, and a quote order is created on 08/14/2020, the quote expiration date automatically becomes 09/13/2020. However, this date can be changed. If a date is not defined in Customer Service Control Maintenance, you will need to manually enter an expiration date each time a quote order is processed because the expiration date will default to the quote’s order date.

Question: How long can a quote be used to turn into a sales order?

Answer: After the expiration date has passed, the quote expires and cannot be used for a sales order. However, you can update the expiration date of the quote.

Question: Is there a way to quote a price for a product on a quote order and have that price retained for the customer?

Answer: Yes, you can actually create a customer specific-product specific price matrix record for a product entered as a line item on a quote order. This is achieved by selecting an option in the Create/Update price record on quote entry field on the Order Entry tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance. This option will create/update a customer-product price matrix record when a quote order is entered. Select the appropriate option:
