Purpose

Enter, view, edit, or delete forecast alert methods.

Overview

Use Forecast Alert Method Maintenance to set up calculations to determine forecast alert requirements. Forecast alerts are used to compare forecast units with actual sales and to find products/locations that are extremely over or under forecast. Forecast alert methods are used to construct buying methods in Buying Method Maintenance.

You can build standard and custom forecast alert methods based on different forecast alert parameters and forecast alert logic.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Forecast Alert Method Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new forecast alert method.
Update	Click this button to update the selected forecast alert method.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected forecast alert method.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first forecast alert method.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous forecast alert method.
Next	Click this button to display the next forecast alert method.
Last	Click this button to display the last forecast alert method.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Method Name	Enter the forecast alert method name, or click the Lookup button to select a forecast alert method.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
System Default	Select this check box if this is the default forecast alert method.
Short Description	Enter a brief description of the forecast alert method.
Detailed Description	Enter a detailed description of the forecast alert method.
Use to Determine Best Fit	This check box is slated for functionality in a future release.
Program Name	Enter the program name used to perform calculations for the forecast alert method. Note Program names are supplied by Apprise. Do not use any name that has not been approved by Apprise.
Parameters	This grid displays calculation parameters used to perform forecast alert calculations. Note Different forecast alert methods use different calculation parameters. For more information, see DRP - Forecast Alert Method FAQ.
Name	This field displays the selected parameter name. Parameters are used as part of the forecast alert method calculations. Note Parameter names are supplied by Apprise. Do not use any parameter name that has not been assigned by Apprise.
Type	This field displays the type of field (character, integer, decimal, date, or logical) associated with the selected parameter. This is specified only by Apprise.
Value	Enter the default value for the selected parameter in the Parameters grid, or click the Lookup button to select a default value. Note This default value can be changed when setting up a buying method.
New	Click this button to create a new parameter for the forecast alert method. This button is only enabled if you are creating a new forecast alert method, or updating a forecast alert method that is not a system default.
Update	Click this button to update the selected parameter for the forecast alert method.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected parameter for the forecast alert method. This button is only enabled if you are creating a new forecast alert method, or updating a forecast alert method that is not a system default.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button.
