Purpose

Enter, view, edit, or delete forecast methods.

Overview

Use Forecast Method Maintenance to set up calculations to determine future period forecasted sales. Forecast methods are used to construct buying methods. Forecast methods are also used to determine display and other options used by Distribution Resource Planning.

You can create standard and custom forecast methods based on different forecast parameters and forecasting logic.

Note Different forecast methods use different calculation parameters.

Exit

Click this button to close the Forecast Method Maintenance window.

New

Click this button to create a new forecast method.

Update

Click this button to update the selected forecast method.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected forecast method.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

First

Click this button to display the first forecast method.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous forecast method.

Next

Click this button to display the next forecast method.

Last

Click this button to display the last forecast method.

Fields and Buttons

Method Name

Enter the forecast method name, or click the Lookup button to select a forecast method.

System Default

This check box is selected if this is a default Apprise forecast method.

Short Description

Enter a brief description of the forecast method.

Detailed Description

Enter a detailed description of the forecast method.

Use to Determine Best Fit

This check box is slated for functionality in a future release.

Program Name

Enter the program name used to perform calculations for this forecast method.

Note Program names are supplied by Apprise. Do not use any name that has not been approved by Apprise. For more information, see DRP - Forecast Method FAQ.

Parameters

This grid displays parameters that configure how the software performs forecast calculations and how DRP data is displayed.

Name

This field displays the selected parameter name. Parameters are used as part of the forecast method calculations and affect the Manage Product Forecasts tab in Product DRP Management.

Note Parameter names are supplied only by Apprise. Do not use any parameter name that has not been assigned by Apprise. For more information, see DRP - Forecast Method FAQ.

Type

This field displays the type of field (character, integer, decimal, date, or logical) associated with the selected parameter. This is specified only by Apprise.

Value

Enter the default value for the selected parameter in the Parameters grid, or click the Lookup button to select a default value.

Note This default value can be changed when setting up a buying method.

New

Click this button to create a new parameter for the forecast method. This button is only enabled if you are creating a new forecast method, or updating a forecast method that is not a system default.

Update

Click this button to update the selected parameter for the forecast method.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected parameter for the forecast method. This button is only enabled if you are creating a new forecast method, or updating a forecast method that is not a system default.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button.
