Purpose

View product inventory and historical inventory.

Overview

Use Inventory and History Inquiry to view current and historical inventory for a product, subcategory of products, or product line/style in a specific location.

You can view inventory for the previous 12 months, and compare that inventory to each of the months from the year before.  For products, you can also view the next scheduled purchase order and the primary pick bin, primary putaway bin, and backflush (bulk) bin in which the product is stored.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Option

Select whether to display data for a specific product, a specific category and subcategory, or a product line and style.

Shipping Prefix

Enter a shipping location prefix for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a shipping location prefix.

Name (Shipping Location)

Enter a shipping location name for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a shipping location name.

Product Code

Enter a product code for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a product code. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Name (Product)

Enter a product name for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a product name. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Category

Enter a category ID for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a category ID. This field is only available if you select the Category/Subcategory radio button.

Name (Category)

Enter a category name for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a category name. This field is only available if you select the Category/Subcategory radio button.

Product Line

Enter a product line for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a product line. This field is only available if you select the Product Line/Style radio button.

Name (Product Line)

Enter a product line name for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a product line name. This field is only available if you select the Product Line/Style radio button.

U/M

This field displays the unit of measure of the selected product. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Subcategory

Enter the subcategory ID for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a subcategory ID. This field is only available if you select the Category/Subcategory radio button.

Name (Subcategory)

Enter the subcategory name for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a subcategory name. This field is only available if you select the Category/Subcategory radio button.

Product Style

Enter a product style for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a product style. This field is only available if you select the Product Line/Style radio button.

Name (Style)

Enter a product style name for which to display inventory data, or click the Lookup button to select a product style name. This field is only available if you select the Product Line/Style radio button.

Price

This field displays the price of the selected product. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Selling U/M

This field displays the selling unit of measure of the selected product. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Price

This field displays the unit price for the selected product.

Category

This field displays the product category of the selected product. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Subcategory

This field displays the product subcategory of the selected product. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Beverage Bottle Size

This field displays the bottle size of the selected product if it is a beverage product. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Excise Tax Category

This field displays the excise tax category of the selected product (if applicable). This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

User Defined Field 1-5

These fields can contain user-defined information for products. These fields are only available if the Product radio button is selected. The labels for these fields are set up in User Defined Fields Maintenance.

Actual UM Levels

Select this check box to display actual unit of measure levels in the Levels grid. If you clear this check box, cases and bottles display in the Levels grid.

Note If your products are sold in bottles and cases, clear this check box. If your products are sold in other units of measure, leave this check box selected.

This check box is cleared by default if Beverage is entered in the Vertical field in System ID Maintenance. This check box is only enabled if the Product radio button is selected.

NOTE When this check box is selected, inventory for the default selling unit of measure is displayed as a decimal quantity (because sales history is stored for the default selling unit of measure).

Include Replacement Products

Select this check box to display levels for all replacement products added to the selected product. This check box is only enabled if the Product radio button is selected.

Levels

This grid displays the following information for each displayed unit of measure:

  • Available inventory

  • On hand inventory

  • Current month sales

  • Current day sales

  • Current month receipts

  • Current month transfers in

  • Current month transfers out

  • Current month adjustments

  • Beginning inventory

  • Allocated inventory

  • Backordered inventory

  • On order inventory

  • Last month sales

  • Current month inventory last year

  • Current year sales

  • Last year sales

Monthly Levels

This grid displays monthly inventory levels for the previous 12 months, the 12 months from the year before the previous 12 months, and the variance quantity and percentage between the monthly inventory levels.

Sched. Delivery Date

This field displays the scheduled delivery date of the next scheduled purchase order for the selected product. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

PO Number

This field displays the purchase order number of the next scheduled purchase order for the selected product. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Quantity

These fields display the quantity and unit of measure of the next scheduled purchase order for the selected product. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Discontinued

This check box is selected if the selected product is discontinued. This check box is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Can Be Sold

This check box is selected if the selected product can be sold. This check box is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Primary Pick Bin

This field displays the primary pick bin for the selected product and location. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Primary Putaway Bin

This field displays the primary putaway bin for the selected product and location. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.

Backflush(Bulk) Bin

This field displays the backflush (bulk) bin for the selected product and location. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected.
