Purpose

Export product lifecycle management data to a Microsoft Excel file.

Overview

Use Lifecycle Data Export to export a task list for the selected workflow type and level to Microsoft Excel.

Note Only tasks selected for export in Lifecycle Data Export Task Selection are exported.

After you export the task list, you can then enter the data in Excel and import it for workflows in Lifecycle Entry Import.

Note By default, exported grid tasks include a column for each column set up for each task. Each column is labelled in the following format: Task Name.Row Number.Column Label. Use Default Rows before exporting to set up the number of rows exported for the grid.

Exporting Product Lifecycle Management Data

To export data:

Enter a workflow type for which you want to export data in the Workflow Type field.
Enter a workflow level for which you want to export data in the Workflow Level field.
Enter a product lifecycle management team for which you want to export data in the Team field.
Select whether to include tasks that are assigned to the team, updatable by the team, or visible to the team.
Click the Print Options tab.
Select an Excel format option and languages for the output file.
Click the Export button in the ribbon. An Excel file is created that contains tasks based on the criteria you selected in steps 1 to 4.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Lifecycle Data Export window.
Export	Click this button to start the export process.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Workflow Type	Enter a workflow type for which you want to export task data, or click the Lookup button to select a workflow type.
Workflow Level	Enter a workflow level for which you want to export task data, or click the Lookup button to select a workflow level. Note You can only select a workflow level after you select a workflow type.
Team	Enter a product lifecycle management team for which to export task data, or click the Lookup button to select a product lifecycle management team. Note You can only select teams to which your user ID is assigned.
Name	Enter a product lifecycle management team name for which to export task data, or click the Lookup button to select a product lifecycle management team name. Note You can only select teams to which your user ID is assigned.
Security	Select a security level for exported tasks. You can select one of the following: Assigned - Export task data for tasks assigned to the selected team. Updatable - Export task data for tasks that can be updated by the selected team, including assigned tasks. Visible - Export task data for tasks that the selected team is allowed to view, including assigned tasks.

Print Options Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Output Option	The Excel radio button is selected to indicate the export is to an Excel file.
Print Full Heading on All Pages	This check box is disabled in this window.
Print Title Line on All Pages	This check box is disabled in this window.
Report Language 1	Enter the first language for column headers in the exported Excel file, or click the Lookup button to select a language.
Report Language 2	Enter a second language for column headers in the exported Excel file, or click the Lookup button to select a language. If you enter a language in this field, the Excel file includes column headers for this language and the language entered in the Report Language 1 field. Note If you export with two languages, you must delete the second language row in the Excel file before importing data in Lifecycle Entry Import.
Horizontal Shading	This check box is disabled in this window.
Collate	This check box is disabled in this window.
Horizontal Shading Color	This field is disabled in this window.
Number of Copies	This field is disabled in this window.
