Purpose

Set up and maintain price book groups.

Overview

Use Price Book Group Maintenance to create, edit, and delete price book groups (groupings of customers used for pricing).

Example A price book group named Distributors is set up for customers who are distributors.

Each price book group is associated with one or more price books that are available to customers in the price book group. For information on setting up price books, see Price Book Maintenance.

Price book groups are associated with customers on the Sales tab in Customer Maintenance.

Creating Price Book Groups

To create a price book group:

Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter a name for the price book group in the Price Book Group field.
Enter a brief description of the price book group in the Short Description field.
Enter a detailed description of the price book group in the Detailed Description field.
Double-click each price book you want to include in the price book group.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The price book group is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Price Book Group Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new price book group.
Update	Click this button to edit the selected price book group.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected price book group.
Show Data	Click this button to display customers on the Customers tab or price book groups on the Inquiry tab. This button is only available if the Customers or Inquiry tab is displayed.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first price book group.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous price book group.
Next	Click this button to display the next price book group.
Last	Click this button to display the last price book group.
Customer	Click this button to display Customer Maintenance, which allows you to view and update information for the customer selected on the Customers tab. Note If you are not authorized to use Customer Maintenance, the Customer Inquiry window appears instead, and allows you to view information for the customer. This button is only available if the Customers tab is displayed.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Price Book Group	Enter a price book group, or click the Lookup button to select an existing price book group.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Short Description	Enter a short description for the price book group.
Detailed Description	Enter a detailed description for the price book group.
Available Price Books	This grid display active price books that are not included in the price book group.
	Click this button to add the selected price book group to the Selected Price Books grid.
	Click this button to add all price book groups in the Available Price Books grid to the Selected Price Books grid.
	Click this button to remove the selected price book group from the Selected Price Books grid.
	Click this button to remove all price book groups from the Selected Price Books grid.
Selected Price Books	This grid displays price books that are included in the price book group.
	Click this button to move a price book up in the hierarchy in the Selected Price Books grid. Prices at the top of the hierarchy are used before prices lower in the hierarchy (unless the system or customer is set up to use the best price).
	Click this button to move a price book down in the hierarchy in the Selected Price Books grid. Prices at the top of the hierarchy are used before prices lower in the hierarchy (unless the system or customer is set up to use the best price).

Note This tab is disabled if you are creating, editing, or deleting a price book group.

Customers

This grid displays customers in the selected price book group after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Double-click a customer to display Customer Maintenance, which allows you to view and update information for the customer.

Note If you are not authorized to use Customer Maintenance, the Customer Inquiry window appears instead, and allows you to view information for the customer.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Note This tab is disabled if you are creating, editing, or deleting a price book group.

Price Book Groups	This grid displays price book group information after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Double-click a price book group to select it and display information for it on the Main tab.
