Purpose

Define product code elements.

Overview

Use Product Code Element Maintenance to define elements used to construct a product if the product elements are being validated. For more information, see Product Code Length Maintenance.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Product Code Element Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new product code element.
Update	Click this button to update the selected product code element.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected product code element.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Element Types	This grid displays element types. Select a previously-defined element type. For information on setting up element types, see Product Code Length Maintenance.
Position to	Enter a product code element in the field to the right of this button, then click this button to select the entered product code element in the Elements grid. This is useful if you have a long list of elements, and you want to avoid scrolling through the list.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Elements	This grid displays all existing product code elements. Select an element to update or delete it.
Element	Enter the element code for a new element. You cannot modify the element code after you save a new element.
Name	Enter a name for an element.
