Purpose

View information about a specific serial number.

Overview

Use Serial Number Inquiry to display information about a specific serial number of a product so you can determine the status of the serial number. If the serial number is in your inventory, you can view the exact location and bin in which the product is stored. If a pick demand was created for the serial number, you can view pick demand and order information for the serial number. If the product has already been invoiced, you can view invoice and customer information for the serial number.

Click this button to close the Serial Number Inquiry window.

Show Data

Click this button to display serial number information in the Serial Numbers grid.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Product Code

Enter a product code for which to view serial number information, or click the Lookup button to select a product code. You must enter a product that is tracked by serial number.

Product Name

Enter a product name for which to view serial number information, or click the Lookup button to select a product name. You must enter a product that is tracked by serial number.

Serial #

Enter a valid serial number for the selected product, or click the Lookup button to select a serial number.

Status

This field displays the status of the selected serial number.

Serial Numbers

This grid displays information for the selected serial number based on the current status of the serial number. Location information displays for serial numbers in inventory, pick demand and order information display for serial numbers on orders for which pick demands have been created, and invoice and customer information display for serial numbers on orders that have been invoiced.

Double-click a location to display Inventory Matrix Inquiry, which allows you to view inventory information for the location.

Double-click an order to display Line Items, which allows you to view detailed order line item information.

Double-click a pick demand to display Pick Confirm Inquiry, which allows you to view detailed information for the pick demand.

Double-click an invoice to display Invoice Entry, which allows you to view and update detailed information for the invoice.

Note If you are not authorized to use Invoice Entry, the Invoice Inquiry window appears instead, and allows you to view information for the invoice.
