Purpose

Set up and maintain value-added tax (VAT) IDs.
Display VAT IDs.

Overview

Use VAT ID Maintenance to create, update, delete, and view your company's VAT IDs for each taxing authority. For each VAT ID, you can specify a currency for reporting VAT and the associated country. After you set up VAT IDs, you can associate VAT IDs with locations and countries in Location Maintenance and Country Maintenance.

Creating VAT IDs

To create a VAT ID:

Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter your company's VAT ID in the VAT ID field.
Enter a description of the VAT ID in the Description field.
Enter the country for the VAT ID in the Country field.
Enter the currency for the VAT ID in the VAT Currency field.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The VAT ID is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the VAT ID Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new VAT ID. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
Update	Click this button to update the selected VAT ID. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected VAT ID. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Show Data	Click this button to display existing VAT IDs. This button is only available if you click the Inquiry tab.
First	Click this button to display the first VAT ID.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous VAT ID.
Next	Click this button to display the next VAT ID.
Last	Click this button to display the last VAT ID.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
VAT ID	Enter a unique VAT ID, or click the Lookup button to select an existing VAT ID. You cannot update this field for an existing VAT ID.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Description	Enter a description of the VAT ID.
Country	Enter a country code for the VAT ID, or click the Lookup button to select a country code. For information on setting up country codes, see Country Maintenance.
VAT Currency	Enter the currency used to report VAT to the local taxing authority for the VAT ID, or click the Lookup button to select a currency. For information on setting up currencies, see Currency Maintenance.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Note This tab is disabled if you are creating, editing, or deleting a VAT ID.

Field or Button	Description
VAT IDs	This grid displays VAT ID information after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Double-click a VAT ID to select it, and display information for it on the Main tab.
