Define sales locations and/or shipping locations.
Define location-based account resolutions.
Set up defaults for pick demand creation and printing.
Use Location Maintenance to define a location, which is typically one of the following:
A physical warehouse where product is stored.
A logical warehouse used to segregate products in the same physical warehouse.
A sales location that groups customers and/or sales representatives for analysis.
Locations can also be used for general ledger account resolution, depending upon your setups. For more information, see General Ledger Account Resolution Issues FAQ.
Note Data for Location Maintenance is stored in the location table.

Select this check box if the location is an outside process location for one or multiple suppliers performing manufacturing. This check box is only available if the Shipping or Both radio button is selected, and the Supplier Consignment Location check box is cleared. |

Select this check box if the location is used to store inventory owned by a supplier. All inventory stored in a supplier consignment location is stored with a cost of zero. You cannot change this setting after inventory exists in the location. This check box is only available if the Shipping or Both radio button is selected, and the Outside Process Location check box is cleared. Select this check box if the location uses a third-party warehouse management system (WMS) and you need to integrate Apprise with the WMS for the location. If you select this check box, configure options for the WMS on the WMS tab. |

Enter a detailed description of the location. |
|
Enter the country in which the location exists. For information on setting up countries, see Country Maintenance. This defaults to the country of the physical address of the system ID. |
|
Enter the cost region in which the location exists. For information on setting up cost regions, see Cost Region Maintenance. This defaults to the Default cost region if it exists. |
|
Enter the default cash general ledger account for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a default cash account. |
|
Click the Lookup button to select the default currency used for storing inventory in the location, and for transactions related to the location. This defaults to the currency for the ledger. The currency cannot be changed if the Supplier Consignment Location check box is selected. The currency cannot be changed after inventory is stored in the location. |
|
Click the Lookup button to select the default return code for return orders for the selected location. |
|
Enter the next sequential customer code number if customers are assigned a sequential code based on the location. This field is only enabled if the Cust Assignment by Location check box is selected in Accounts Receivable Control Maintenance and is disabled for shipping locations. Note Customer codes for the location are prefixed by the location prefix. |

Click the Lookup button and select the time zone of the location. If the time zones of the trading partner differs from that of the location, the system converts the date and time of the trading partner to that of the location while importing the EDI Order Date and Time using the Purchase Order Form. |

Enter the company code associated with the location. For information on setting up company codes, see Company Maintenance. |

Enter the default shipping weight unit of measure used for the location for order entry, picking, and pick demand confirmation, or click the Lookup button to select a weight unit of measure. This defaults to lb. |

Enter the default shipping volume unit of measure used for the location for order entry, picking, and pick demand confirmation, or click the Lookup button to select a volume unit of measure. This defaults to cuft. |

Enter the DRP region for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a DRP region. |

Enter a price region for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a price region. Enter All if there is no specific price region. The price region controls price matrix pricing for the location. This defaults to All. |

Select one of the following options to determine if a pack list automatically prints after pick demand confirmation for the shipping location:

Select this check box to prompt users to select a printer when printing pack lists. This check box is cleared by default, and only enabled if the Yes or Ask radio button is selected for the Print Pack List radio set. |

Select one of the following options to determine if an invoice automatically prints after pick demand confirmation for the shipping location:

Select this check box to print line items that are backordered on invoices. |

Select whether the invoice date for invoices printed automatically after pick demand confirmation for the shipping location is the current date or the date entered as the pick confirmation date. These radio buttons are only enabled if you select the Yes or Ask radio button for the Print Invoices option. |

Select an option that controls drop ship processing in Order Entry for the sales location. Select one of the following options:
NOTE Do not select this option if the location is a shipping location.
NOTE If the Supplier Consignment Location check box is selected, the No Drop Ship Allowed radio button is selected, and this radio set is disabled. |

Enter the default dock for receiving in the location, or click the Lookup button to select the default dock. Dock definitions are created and maintained in Dock Maintenance. The entered default dock is overridden for each user with the default dock entered in User Extended Options. |

Enter the number of copies of bills of lading to print for the location (1-9). This field defaults to 1. |
|
Enter an inventory sort sequence number. When viewing location-level detail in Inventory Matrix Inquiry, this controls which locations display first, second, third, etc. Locations are sorted primarily using this sort sequence, and secondarily by location name. Example There are five locations, A, B, C, F, and G. Locations A, F, and G have a sort sequence of 0, location B has a sort sequence of 1, and location C has a sort sequence of 2. The display order will be A, F, G, B, and C. |

Enter the zone in which manufacturing occurs for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a zone. For information on setting up zones, see Zone Maintenance. |

Select this check box to allocate specific serial numbers to an order for the location in Order Entry. |

Allow Backordered Products to Be Released for Orders on Hold |
Select this check box to allow users to allocate backordered products at the location for sales orders on credit hold. |
Select this check box to receive products initially to the dock’s directed putaway bin (instead of directly to a warehouse bin). This option is used in conjunction with Dock Maintenance, Receiving Entry, and Directed Putaway and Bin Replenish. |

Select this check box to automatically select a shipper based on the number of cartons, weight, ship-from/ship-to address, and the customer’s rules. |

Select this check box to make the Zone field a required field when entering bins for the location in Bin Maintenance. |

Select this check box to automatically adjust inventory when confirming issued materials. If this check box is selected, the Adjust Inventory check box is selected by default in Material Confirm. |

Select whether order acknowledgments are generated by Scheduling Assistant. Select the Schedule radio button to avoid slowing down the person who is entering orders. |

Enter an active Scheduling Assistant queue for scheduled order acknowledgments, or click the Lookup button to select a Scheduling Assistant queue. For information on creating Scheduling Assistant queues, see Scheduling Assistant Queue Maintenance. |

Enter the maximum allowable number of days in the future for sales order required dates in the location. If this field is zero, there is no restriction on required dates for the location. |

This is useful for point-of-sale orders that are taxable when customers pick up products from a warehouse. This defaults to the None tax jurisdiction if it exists. |

Select this check box if the location is used as a tax warehouse for excise tax purposes. This check box is cleared by default, and only enabled for shipping locations (or locations that are both sales and shipping locations). |

Enter the excise ID for the location if it is used as a tax warehouse for excise tax purposes. This field is only enabled if the Tax Warehouse check box is selected. |

Select whether excise taxes are calculated for the location based on the ship-to or ship-from location of the order or transfer. This radio set is only enabled if the Tax Warehouse check box is selected. |

Enter your company's VAT ID for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a VAT ID. For information on setting up VAT IDs, see VAT ID Maintenance. This field is only available for locations in countries that are set up to use VAT. |
