Purpose

Overview

Use Location Maintenance to define a location, which is typically one of the following:

Locations can also be used for general ledger account resolution, depending upon your setups. For more information, see General Ledger Account Resolution Issues FAQ.

Note Data for Location Maintenance is stored in the location table.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button

Description

Exit

Click this button to close the Location Maintenance window.

New

Click this button to create a new location.

Update

Click this button to update the selected location.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected location. You cannot delete a location if it is used for a customer's port selection rules.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

First

Click this button to display the first location.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous location.

Next

Click this button to display the next location.

Last

Click this button to display the last location.

Notes

Click this button to display Notes Entry, which allows you to view and enter notes for the selected location.

Exception Notification

Click this button to display Location Exception Notification Setup, which allows you to set up users to notify for invalid accounts and to notify when a pick demand is confirmed for a product in a bin that does not have enough inventory for the pick demand.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Location Prefix

Enter a location prefix, or click the Lookup button to select an existing location prefix.

Location Name

Enter a location name, or click the Lookup button to select an existing location name.

Active

Select this check box if the warehouse is active. This check box is selected by default. If this check box is cleared for a location, the location will not appear in Lookup windows.

General Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Type

Select whether the location is a sales location, shipping location, or both. For more information, see Sales Location / Shipping Location.

Note Inventory transactions are only tracked if you select Shipping or Both.

Outside Process Location

Select this check box if the location is an outside process location for one or multiple suppliers performing manufacturing. This check box is only available if the Shipping or Both radio button is selected, and the Supplier Consignment Location check box is cleared.

Supplier Consignment Location

Select this check box if the location is used to store inventory owned by a supplier. All inventory stored in a supplier consignment location is stored with a cost of zero. You cannot change this setting after inventory exists in the location. This check box is only available if the Shipping or Both radio button is selected, and the Outside Process Location check box is cleared.

Use External WMS

Select this check box if the location uses a third-party warehouse management system (WMS) and you need to integrate Apprise with the WMS for the location. If you select this check box, configure options for the WMS on the WMS tab.

Description

Enter a detailed description of the location.

Country

Enter the country in which the location exists. For information on setting up countries, see Country Maintenance. This defaults to the country of the physical address of the system ID.

Cost Region

Enter the cost region in which the location exists. For information on setting up cost regions, see Cost Region Maintenance. This defaults to the Default cost region if it exists.

Default Cash Account

Enter the default cash general ledger account for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a default cash account.

Currency

Click the Lookup button to select the default currency used for storing inventory in the location, and for transactions related to the location. This defaults to the currency for the ledger. The currency cannot be changed if the Supplier Consignment Location check box is selected. The currency cannot be changed after inventory is stored in the location.

Default Return Code

Click the Lookup button to select the default return code for return orders for the selected location.

Next Customer Code

Enter the next sequential customer code number if customers are assigned a sequential code based on the location. This field is only enabled if the Cust Assignment by Location check box is selected in Accounts Receivable Control Maintenance and is disabled for shipping locations.

Note Customer codes for the location are prefixed by the location prefix.

Time Zone

Click the Lookup button and select the time zone of the location. If the time zones of the trading partner differs from that of the location, the system converts the date and time of the trading partner to that of the location while importing the EDI Order Date and Time using the Purchase Order Form.

Company Code

Enter the company code associated with the location. For information on setting up company codes, see Company Maintenance.

Ship Weight U/M

Enter the default shipping weight unit of measure used for the location for order entry, picking, and pick demand confirmation, or click the Lookup button to select a weight unit of measure. This defaults to lb.

Ship Volume U/M

Enter the default shipping volume unit of measure used for the location for order entry, picking, and pick demand confirmation, or click the Lookup button to select a volume unit of measure. This defaults to cuft.

DRP Region

Enter the DRP region for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a DRP region.

Price Region

Enter a price region for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a price region. Enter All if there is no specific price region. The price region controls price matrix pricing for the location. This defaults to All.

Print Pack List

Select one of the following options to determine if a pack list automatically prints after pick demand confirmation for the shipping location:

  • Yes - Automatically print pack lists for customers set up to print pack lists.

  • No - Do not automatically print pack lists.

  • Ask - Provide the user with the option to print pack lists.

Print Fully BO Lines (Pack List)

Select this check box to print line items that are backordered on the packing slip.

Display Printer Selection

Select this check box to prompt users to select a printer when printing pack lists. This check box is cleared by default, and only enabled if the Yes or Ask radio button is selected for the Print Pack List radio set.

Print Package Labels

Select one of the following options to determine if package labels automatically print after pick demand confirmation for the shipping location:

  • Always - Automatically print package labels.

  • Ask - Provide the user with the option to print package labels.

  • First Print - Print unprinted package labels.

  • No - Do not automatically print package labels.

NOTE This setting can be overridden for specific zones.

Print Invoices

Select one of the following options to determine if an invoice automatically prints after pick demand confirmation for the shipping location:

  • Yes - Automatically print invoices.

  • No - Do not automatically print invoices.

  • Ask - Provide the user with the option to print invoices.

Note This setting is only used if Blank is selected for the Print Invoices option for the order class in Order Class Maintenance.

Print Fully BO Lines (Invoices)

Select this check box to print line items that are backordered on invoices.

Invoice Date

Select whether the invoice date for invoices printed automatically after pick demand confirmation for the shipping location is the current date or the date entered as the pick confirmation date. These radio buttons are only enabled if you select the Yes or Ask radio button for the Print Invoices option.

Order Drop Ship Option

Select an option that controls drop ship processing in Order Entry for the sales location. Select one of the following options:

  • Drop Ship Allowed - Orders can be drop shipped for the location.

  • Must Drop Ship - All orders must be drop shipped for the location.

NOTE Do not select this option if the location is a shipping location.

  • No Drop Ship Allowed - No orders can be drop shipped for the location.

NOTE If the Supplier Consignment Location check box is selected, the No Drop Ship Allowed radio button is selected, and this radio set is disabled.

Default Dock

Enter the default dock for receiving in the location, or click the Lookup button to select the default dock. Dock definitions are created and maintained in Dock Maintenance. The entered default dock is overridden for each user with the default dock entered in User Extended Options.

Number of BOL Copies to Print

Enter the number of copies of bills of lading to print for the location (1-9). This field defaults to 1.

Inv. Sort Seq

Enter an inventory sort sequence number. When viewing location-level detail in Inventory Matrix Inquiry, this controls which locations display first, second, third, etc.  Locations are sorted primarily using this sort sequence, and secondarily by location name.

Example There are five locations, A, B, C, F, and G. Locations A, F, and G have a sort sequence of 0, location B has a sort sequence of 1, and location C has a sort sequence of 2. The display order will be A, F, G, B, and C.

Manufacturing Zone

Enter the zone in which manufacturing occurs for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a zone. For information on setting up zones, see Zone Maintenance.

Allow Serial Allocation at This Location

Select this check box to allocate specific serial numbers to an order for the location in Order Entry.

Allow Backordered Products to Be Released for Orders on Hold

Select this check box to allow users to allocate backordered products at the location for sales orders on credit hold.

Use Directed Putaway

Select this check box to receive products initially to the dock’s directed putaway bin (instead of directly to a warehouse bin). This option is used in conjunction with Dock Maintenance, Receiving Entry, and Directed Putaway and Bin Replenish.

Use Automatic Freight Carrier Consolidation

Select this check box to automatically select a shipper based on the number of cartons, weight, ship-from/ship-to address, and the customer’s rules.

Zone Required for Bins

Select this check box to make the Zone field a required field when entering bins for the location in Bin Maintenance.

Automatically Adjust Material

Select this check box to automatically adjust inventory when confirming issued materials. If this check box is selected, the Adjust Inventory check box is selected by default in Material Confirm.

Automatically Adjust Goods

Select this check box to automatically adjust inventory when confirming work orders. If this check box is selected, the Adjust Inventory check box is selected by default in Work Order Confirm Entry.

Allow Drop Ship Processing for PO with No Cost

Select this check box to allow drop-ship orders to be processed for purchase orders that have no associated costs. If this check box is cleared for a location, Drop Ship Purchase Order Confirmation and Voucher Entry cannot be used to process drop-ship purchase orders with no costs. This check box is selected by default.

Print Order Acknowledgments

Select one of the following options to indicate whether to send a customer's primary contact an automatic email order acknowledgment for an order from the location:

  • Yes - Always send order acknowledgments.

  • No - Never send order acknowledgments.

  • Ask - Prompt whether to send order acknowledgments.

Process

Select whether order acknowledgments are generated by Scheduling Assistant. Select the Schedule radio button to avoid slowing down the person who is entering orders.

Scheduling Assistant Queue

Enter an active Scheduling Assistant queue for scheduled order acknowledgments, or click the Lookup button to select a Scheduling Assistant queue. For information on creating Scheduling Assistant queues, see Scheduling Assistant Queue Maintenance.

Future Required Date Limit (days)

Enter the maximum allowable number of days in the future for sales order required dates in the location. If this field is zero, there is no restriction on required dates for the location.

WMS Tab Fields and Buttons

Note This tab is only available if the Use External WMS check box is selected on the General tab.

Field or Button

Description

Default Export Directory

Enter the default folder path into which to export data for the WMS, or click the Lookup button to navigate to and select a folder. This folder can be overridden for specific transactions in the grid.

Default Export Archive Directory

Enter the default folder path to which to move archived data that was exported to the WMS, or click the Lookup button to navigate to and select a folder. This folder can be overridden for specific transactions in the grid.

Default Export Method

Click the Lookup button and select one of the following default export methods:

  • API - Export to a WMS using an API.

  • No - Do not export data to a WMS by default (this can be overridden for specific transactions).

  • WMS - Export to a WMS using Apprise.

This can be overridden for specific transactions in the grid.

Skip Printing Pick Demand for WMS

Select this check box to not output pick demands by default when exporting pick demands to the WMS.

Skip Printing Material Issue for WMS

Select this check box to not output work orders when exporting material issue data to the WMS.

Skip Exporting Products for Imports

Select this check box to not export product data to the WMS when importing product data in Product Import, Product Change Import, or Product Unit of Measure Import.

Primary Export File Prefix

Enter a file name prefix for data exported to the WMS.

Export File Extension

Enter the file extension for data exported to the WMS.

Example txt

Export File Delimiter

Enter a delimiter character used to separate data in files exported to the WMS.

EXAMPLE You can enter a caret (^) character in this field if you want data in export files to be separated by carets.

Export Transactions

This grid displays options for transactions that can be exported to the WMS. This grid includes the following columns:

  • Transaction Type - This column displays the transaction type.

  • Enable - Select the check box in this column for each transaction for which you want to export data to the WMS.

  • Override Export Directory - Select the check box in this column for each transaction for which you want to enter an export folder in the grid (overriding the default export folder path entered in the Default Export Directory field).

  • Export Directory - Enter a folder path for export data for each transaction for which the check box is selected in the Override Export Directory column.

  • Override Archive Directory - Select the check box in this column for each transaction for which you want to enter an export archive folder in the grid (overriding the default export archive folder path entered in the Default Export Archive Directory field).

  • Export Archive Directory - Enter a folder path for export archive data for each transaction for which the check box is selected in the Override Archive Directory column.

  • Override Export Method - Select this check box for each transaction for which you want to override the default export method entered in the Default Export Method field.

  • Export Method - Double-click to select an export method for each transaction for which the check box is selected in the Override Export Method column. For descriptions of the available export methods, see the information for the Default Export Method field.

  • Allow Changing Export Method - Select the check box in this grid column for each transaction for which you want to allow the export method to be changed while processing the transaction (for example, when pick demands are printed).

  • Secondary Export File Prefix - Enter a file name prefix for data exported to the WMS for each transaction. This prefix is appended to the file name after the prefix entered in the Primary Export File Prefix field.

Default Import Directory

Enter the default folder path from which to import WMS data into Apprise, or click the Lookup button to navigate to and select a folder. This folder can be overridden for specific transactions in the grid.

Default Import Archive Directory

Enter the default folder path to which to move archived WMS data that was imported, or click the Lookup button to navigate to and select a folder. This folder can be overridden for specific transactions in the grid.

Default Import File Type

Enter the default file type for imported WMS data. If a file type is entered in this field, only files of this file type are imported into Apprise. This can be overridden for specific transactions in the grid.

Send Error Email

Select this check box to send an email when WMS data is not imported. If you select this check box, enter an email address and subject for email sent when WMS data is not imported.

Email Address (Error Emails)

Enter an email address to which to send an email when WMS data is not imported. This field is only enabled if the Send Error Email check box is selected.

Email Subject (Error Emails)

Enter a subject for email sent when WMS data is not imported. This field is only enabled if the Send Error Email check box is selected.

Send Email When Qoh Comparison Has Discrepancy

Select this check box to send an email when there is a discrepancy in the quantity on hand between Apprise and the WMS. If you select this check box, enter an email address and subject for email sent when there is a quantity on hand discrepancy.

Email Address (QOH Comparison)

Enter an email address to which to send an email when there is a discrepancy in the quantity on hand comparison. This field is only enabled if the Send Email When Qoh Comparison Has Discrepancy check box is selected.

Email Subject (QOH Comparison)

Enter a subject for email sent when there is a discrepancy in the quantity on hand comparison. This field is only enabled if the Send Email When Qoh Comparison Has Discrepancy check box is selected.

Import Transactions

This grid displays options for transactions that can be imported from the WMS. This grid includes the following columns:

  • Transaction Type - This column displays the transaction type.

  • Enable - Select the check box in this column for each transaction for which you want to import data from the WMS.

  • Override Import Directory - Select the check box in this column for each transaction for which you want to enter an import folder in the grid (overriding the default import folder path entered in the Default Import Directory field).

  • Import Directory - Enter a folder path for import data for each transaction for which the check box is selected in the Override Import Directory column.

  • Override Archive Directory - Select the check box in this column for each transaction for which you want to enter an import archive folder in the grid (overriding the default import archive folder path entered in the Default Import Archive Directory field).

  • Import Archive Directory - Enter a folder path for import archive data for each transaction for which the check box is selected in the Override Archive Directory column.

  • Override File Type - Select this check box for each transaction for which you want to override the default import file type entered in the Default Import File Type field.

  • File type - Enter an import file type for each transaction for which the check box is selected in the Override File Type column.

Addresses Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Address Type

Click the Lookup button to select the type of address you want to enter for the location. You can select the following types:

  • Bill-To

  • Mailing

  • Physical

  • Remit-To

  • Ship-To

Most of these addresses are used for purchasing (purchase orders).

Copy Address

Click this button to copy an existing address to the selected address. If Physical is selected for the Address Type field, click this button to copy the physical address entered in System ID Maintenance. If any other address is selected for the Address Type field, click this button to copy the physical address for the location.

Name

Enter a name for the address. You can click the Lookup button to switch between existing bill-to, mailing, physical, remit-to, and ship-to addresses for the location.

Address 1

Enter the first line of the street address.

Address 2

Enter the second line of the street address.

Phone #

Enter the phone number for the address.

Address 3

Enter the third line of the street address.

Fax #

Enter the fax number for the address.

City

Enter the city for the address, or click the Lookup button to select a city.

State/Province

Enter the state or province for the address, or click the Lookup button to select a state or province.

Postal Code

Enter the postal code for the address, or click the Lookup button to select a postal code.

Country

Enter the country for the address, or click the Lookup button to select a country.

County

Enter the county for the address.

Contact

Enter the contact person for the address.

Email

Enter the email address of the contact person for the address. This is informational only.

Importer of Record Number

Enter the C-TPAT importer of record number for the bill-to or physical address. This field is only available if you enter Bill-To or Physical in the Address Type field.

Commit Changes

Click this button to update the address.

Delete Address

Click this button to delete the address.

Selling Accts Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

A/R

Enter the accounts receivable account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for sales locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order.

Cash Discount

Enter the cash discount account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for sales locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order.

Sales

Sales Discount

Enter the general ledger account mask used for sales discounts (sales transactions only) for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for sales locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order.

Note For this to work, you must select the Use GL Sales Discounts check box on the Account Resolution tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance.

Sales Charge

Enter the additional order entry charges account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for sales locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order.

Note You cannot enter an account in one of the following categories:

  • A/P Clearing

  • A/P Trade

  • A/P Write-off

  • A/R Clearing

  • A/R Trade

  • A/R Write-Off

Cost of Goods Sold

Enter the cost of goods sold account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for sales locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order.

Note This is used in conjunction with the selling location mask resolution.

Sales Returns

Enter the general ledger account mask used for sales returns (returns transactions only) for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for sales locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order.

Sales Return Discount

Enter the general ledger account mask used for sales returns discount (returns transactions only) for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for sales locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order.

Note For this to work, you must select the Use GL Sales Discounts check box on the Account Resolution tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance.

Cost of Goods Sold Returns

Enter the general ledger account mask used for cost of goods sold returns (returns transactions only) for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. Returns Expense

Enter the cost of returned items not placed back into inventory (for example, returned items that were damaged) account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for sales locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order.

Note This is used in conjunction with the selling location mask resolution.

Ship and Debit

Enter the ship and debit account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for sales locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order and Customer Service Account Resolution.

Note This is used in conjunction with the selling location mask resolution.

Ship and Debit Variance

Enter the ship and debit variance account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. Bill and Hold Clearing

Enter the bill and hold clearing account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. Bill and Hold Variance

Enter the bill and hold variance account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. In Transit

Enter the in-transit account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. For more information, see Transfer Orders Posting Effect on the General Ledger. This account resolution is used for shipping locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order and Warehouse Management Account Resolution.

Stock Adj. Expense

Enter the stock adjustment account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for shipping locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order and Warehouse Management Account Resolution.

Transfer Buy

Enter the transfer buy account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. For more information, see Transfer Orders Posting Effect on the General Ledger. This account resolution is used for shipping locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order and Warehouse Management Account Resolution.

Transfer Expense

Enter the variance between transfer shipped and received account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. For more information, see Transfer Orders Posting Effect on the General Ledger. This account resolution is used for shipping locations. Inventory Cost Write-Down

Enter the inventory cost write-down account for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. The account entered for the transfer-to location is used for posting cost differences between locations for one-step inventory location transfers if the To Location radio button is selected for the One Step Location Transfer Cost Basis option in Warehouse Management Control Maintenance.

Ship and Debit

Enter the ship and debit account mask for the location, or click the Lookup button to display G/L Prompting, which allows you to enter a general ledger account by element. This account resolution is used for shipping locations. For more detailed information, see Account Resolution Order and Customer Service Account Resolution.

Tax Setup Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Tax Jurisdiction

Enter the sales tax jurisdiction for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a sales tax jurisdiction. This works in conjunction with the Tax Calculated from the Shipping Warehouse field in Order Class Maintenance. This is useful for point-of-sale orders that are taxable when customers pick up products from a warehouse. This defaults to the None tax jurisdiction if it exists.

Tax Warehouse

Select this check box if the location is used as a tax warehouse for excise tax purposes. This check box is cleared by default, and only enabled for shipping locations (or locations that are both sales and shipping locations).

Excise ID

Enter the excise ID for the location if it is used as a tax warehouse for excise tax purposes. This field is only enabled if the Tax Warehouse check box is selected.

Rate Location Basis

Select whether excise taxes are calculated for the location based on the ship-to or ship-from location of the order or transfer. This radio set is only enabled if the Tax Warehouse check box is selected.

VAT ID

Enter your company's VAT ID for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a VAT ID. For information on setting up VAT IDs, see VAT ID Maintenance. This field is only available for locations in countries that are set up to use VAT.

Description

This field displays the description of the entered VAT ID. This field is only available for locations in countries that are set up to use VAT.

Default VAT Supplier

Enter the supplier code of the default VAT supplier to which you will pay VAT for purchase orders shipped to the location, or click the Lookup button to select a supplier code. This is the default VAT supplier for purchase orders for products ordered from one country and shipped to a different country. This can be overridden for specific purchase orders. This field is only available for locations in countries that are set up to use VAT.

Name

Enter the supplier name of the default VAT supplier to which you will pay VAT for purchase orders shipped to the location, or click the Lookup button to select a supplier name. This is the default VAT supplier for purchase orders for products ordered from one country and shipped to a different country. This can be overridden for specific purchase orders. Input VAT Clearing

This label format is printed in between the tracking and shipping labels to demarcate that the labels are for a different product; especially, when batch confirming pick demands related to single-single orders for multiple products. For more information, see Label Break.

Bill of Lading Form Name

Enter the Crystal Reports bill of lading file to use for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a bill of lading file.

NOTE Custom Crystal Reports files should be checked into the Apprise database using AppriseCenter.

Master Bill of Lading Form Name

Enter the Crystal Reports master bill of lading file to use for the location, or click the Lookup button to select a master bill of lading file.

Picking Demands Tab Fields and Buttons

Note This tab is used to set up default pick demand options for creating, printing, and confirming pick demands in Pick Demand Create and Print and Batch Pick Demand Confirm.

All Orders

Select this check box to select all orders by default when creating pick demands. This check box is selected by default.

All Shippers

Select this check box to select all shippers by default when creating pick demands. This check box is selected by default.

Auto Create Pick Demands

Select this check box to create pick demands automatically by default. This check box is selected by default.

All Customer Codes

Select this check box to select all customer ID's by default when creating pick demands. This check box is selected by default.

Print Summary Report

Select this check box to select the Print Summary Report check box by default on the Print Options tab in Pick Demand Create and Print and Pick Demand Reprint when printing pick demands for the location. This check box is cleared by default.

Note You can also set this to default from the zone. If Yes or No is entered for the Default Picking Summary Report field in Zone Maintenance, and the All Zones to Print check box is cleared when printing pick demands in Pick Demand Create and Print or Pick Demand Reprint, the zone default setting overrides the location default setting.

All Dates

Select this check box to select all required dates by default when creating pick demands for the location. This check box is selected by default.

All Waves

Select this check box to select all waves by default when creating pick demands. This check box is selected by default.

Pre Build Cartons

Select this check box to select to pre-build cartons by default. This check box is only enabled if the Process EDI Warehouse Shipping Orders/Advices check box is cleared. This check box is cleared by default.

All Customer Names

Select this check box to select all customer names by default. This check box is selected by default.

Break by

Select whether pick demand summary reports for the location are divided by default by product, customer, or bill of lading. This radio set is only enabled if the Print Summary Report check box is selected. The Product radio button is selected by default.

All Zones

Select this check box to select all zones by default. This check box is selected by default.

Create by Zone

Select this check box to create a pick demand only for a specific zone specified in Pick Demand Create and Print by default for the location. This check box is only enabled if you clear the All Zones check box.

All Routes

Select this check box to select all routes by default. This check box is selected by default.

Auto Print Pick Demands

Select this check box to automatically print pick demands by default. This check box is selected by default.

Hold Pick Demand Print If Order Has Pick Alert

Select this check box to select the Hold Pick Demand Print If Order Has Pick Alert check box in Pick Demand Create and Print by default for the location. This check box is cleared by default.

Generate Deliveries During Routing Interface Pick Demand Import

Select this check box to create deliveries when importing pick demand data for the location from third-party routing software in Routing Interface Pick Demand Import. This option can also be set for specific zones in a location in Zone Maintenance. This check box is cleared by default.

Allow Over Allocations

Select this check box to select the Allow Over Allocations check box in Pick Demand Create and Print by default for the location. If the check box in Pick Demand Create and Print is selected and an over allocation occurs for an order line item, a pick alert is generated. The zone can be set up to automatically generate bin replenishment tasks for the pick alerts so that products can be quickly replenished. This check box is cleared by default.

Print Package Labels

Select this check box to print package labels for batch picking in the location. If you select this check box, the Print Package Labels check box is selected by default for the location in Batch Pick Demand Confirm. This check box is selected by default.

One Package per Pick Demand

Select this check box if all products for each pick demand are typically packed in a single package for batch picking in the location. If you select this check box, the One Package per Pick Demand check box is selected by default for the location in Batch Pick Demand Confirm. This check box is cleared by default.

Date from

Enter the first date in a range of required dates for which to create and print pick demands by default for the location, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Dates check box.

Date to

Click the Lookup button to select the last date in a range of required dates for which to create and print pick demands by default for the location. You can select one of the following options (or leave this field blank):

  • Next 2 Business Days

  • Next 3 Business Days

  • Next 5 Business Days

  • Next Business Day

  • Today

This Lookup button is only enabled if you clear the All Dates check box.

Pick Demand Sort

Click the Lookup button to select a sort sequence for printed pick demands. Select one of the following options:

  • Customer PO #

  • Customer/Shipto#

  • Master BOL/BOL Stop

  • Master BOL/Reverse Stop

  • Pick Demand #

  • Route/Reverse Stop

  • Route/Stop#

This is the default pick demand sort method for pick demands created in Pick Demand Create and Print.

This defaults to Pick Demand #.

Pick Demand Primary Line Sort

Click the Lookup button to select a primary sort sequence of line items on printed pick demands. Select one of the following options:

  • Bin Sequence - Sort line items by bin sequence, then by bin name, and then by product. If this is selected and bin sequences are not set up (or are the same for all bins), line items are sorted by bin name.

  • Pick Sequence - Sort line items by pick sequence, then by product or bin sequence.

  • Product Name - Sort line items by product name, then bin sequence.

This is the default primary line item sort method for pick demands created in Pick Demand Create and Print or during order entry.

This defaults to Bin Sequence.

Pick Demand Secondary Line Sort

Click the Lookup button to select a secondary sort sequence of line items on printed pick demands. Select one of the following options:

  • Bin Sequence - If this is selected and bin sequences are not set up (or are the same for all bins), line items are sorted by bin name.

  • Product Code

  • Product Name

Note If you select Product Name for the Pick Demand Primary Line Sort field, you can only select Bin Sequence. If you select Bin Sequence for the Pick Demand Primary Line Sort field, you can only select Product Code or Product Name.

This is the default secondary line item sort method for pick demands created in Pick Demand Create and Print or during order entry.

This defaults to Product Code.

Picking Process

Click the Lookup button to select whether pick demands are generated by Scheduling Assistant. This defaults to Client.

Picking Output

Click the Lookup button to select a method for outputting pick demands.

Select one of the following output options:

  • Email - Output to your default email application.

  • File - Output to a file to be stored for later use.

  • Printer - Output to a printer.

  • Screen - Output to the Report Viewer so you can immediately view the pick demands. If you select this option, you cannot output using Scheduling Assistant.

This defaults to Screen.

Pick Method

Click the Lookup button to select a default pick method for products in the location. If a pick method is not defined for a product, when the product/location record is set up, this is the pick method that will be used by default. This defaults to UM/FIFO/SEQ.

Warehouse Confirmation Default

Click the Lookup button and select one of the following options:

Package Laydown Bin

Enter a bin to use as a staging area if you want to move the contents of a bin after picking to another bin during pick demand confirmation, or click the Lookup button to select the bin. This allows you to transfer products out of the pick bin and into another bin from which the products are ultimately inventory adjusted. You would do this so that you could receive into the bin sooner or perform a cycle count by bin. It also more accurately reflects the real-time inventory quantity in that bin. It’s picked, so it’s not in the bin, but would show up in the bin until it is inventory adjusted. In the Wireless Warehouse module, this move will be done in real time.

Note This option also exists for users and zones. The priority order is user, zone, and then location.

Default Preview Level

Click the Lookup button and select the default display level for the location selected on the Preview tab in Pick Demand Create and Print. This defaults to Truck.

Default Pick Alert Sort

This grid displays the pick alert message sort. Click the arrow buttons to set up the pick alert message sort.

Other Options Tab Fields and Buttons

  • Blank - Skip this selection in the hierarchy search.

Last Cycle Class

Enter the last cycle class code that was counted in the location, or click the Lookup button to select the last cycle class code. This field defaults based on the last cycle count class that was used for a physical inventory ID.

Process EDI Warehouse Shipping Orders/Advices

Select this check box if the location is a third-party logistics warehouse, and you want to send warehouse shipping orders and receive warehouse shipping advices for the location. If you select this check box, you must enter an EDI trading partner associated with the location in the EDI Trade ID field. For more information on EDI warehouse shipping orders/advices, see EDI Forms. This check box is cleared by default.

Process EDI 943-944

Select this check box if the location is a third-party logistics warehouse, and you want to send warehouse stock transfer shipment advices and receive warehouse stock transfer receipt advices for the location. If you are processing EDI warehouse stock transfer shipment/receipt advices for a third-party logistics warehouse, enter a trade ID for which the 943/944 forms are set up and for which maps are created. EDI Trade ID

Enter the EDI trading partner trade ID associated with the location, or click the Lookup button to select a trade ID. If you are processing EDI warehouse shipping orders/advices for a third-party logistics warehouse, enter a trade ID for which the 940/945 or INSDES/RECADV forms are set up and for which maps are created. Scheduling Assistant Queue

Enter an active Scheduling Assistant queue for Wirelss Warehouse print jobs or click the Lookup button to select a Scheduling Assistant queue. If this field is blank, the default queue is used. Email Address

Enter an email address to which to send email if there is a problem when processing the Wireless Warehouse print jobs. For more information about setting up Wireless Warehouse for printing invoices, pack lists, and labels, see Setting Up Wireless Warehouse Printing.
