Purpose

Set up and maintain campaigns.

Overview

Use Campaign Management to create, edit, and delete campaigns. Before creating campaigns, set up campaign types in Campaign Type Definition.

Creating Campaigns

To create a campaign:

  1. Click the New button in the ribbon.

  2. Enter a name for the campaign in the Campaign Name field.

  3. Enter a description of the campaign in the Description field.

  4. Enter the start date of the campaign in the Targeted Start Date field.

  5. Enter the end date of the campaign in the Targeted End Date field.

  6. Enter the campaign type in the Campaign Type field.

  7. Click the Lookup button for the Campaign Status field, and select the status for the campaign.

  8. Enter the number of prospects and qualified prospects you expect will be converted to customers based on the campaign in the Expected Prospect Conversions and Expected Qualified Prospect Conversions fields.

  9. Click the Targets tab.

  10. Click the Select Targets button in the ribbon. The CRM Target Selection window appears.

  11. Double-click the Begin With selection rule. The CRM Rules window appears, and displays target selection rules based on the tasks associated with the campaign type you selected in step 6.

  12. Specify the criteria for the target selection rule, and click the OK button in the ribbon.

  13. If you want to add additional target selection rules, click the Add Rule button, and specify the criteria for the rules.

  14. If you want to view the targets based on the selection rules, click the Display All Targets button in the ribbon. If the displayed targets are not the desired targets, add, edit, and remove rules until the desired targets are displayed.

  15. Click the OK button in the ribbon. The targets for the campaign appear in the Campaign Management window.

  16. If the campaign will have special pricing, click the Pricing tab, and enter the price book to associate with the campaign in the Campaign Price Book field.

  17. Click the OK button in the ribbon. The campaign is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button

Description

Exit

Click this button to close the Campaign Management window.

New

Click this button to create a new campaign. This button is only available if the Main, Targets, or Pricing tab is displayed.

Update

Click this button to update the selected campaign. This button is only available if the Main, Targets, or Pricing tab is displayed.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected campaign. This button is only available if the Main, Targets, or Pricing tab is displayed.

Show Data

Click this button to display campaigns on the Inquiry tab. This button is only available if the Inquiry tab is displayed.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

First

Click this button to display the first campaign. This button is only available if the Main, Targets, or Pricing tab is displayed.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous campaign. This button is only available if the Main, Targets, or Pricing tab is displayed.

Next

Click this button to display the next campaign. This button is only available if the Main, Targets, or Pricing tab is displayed.

Last

Click this button to display the last campaign. This button is only available if the Main, Targets, or Pricing tab is displayed.

Attachments

Click this button to display Attachment Entry, which allows you to view and enter attachments for the selected campaign. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Notes

Click this button to display Notes Entry, which allows you to view and enter notes for the selected campaign. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Remarks

Click this button to display Remark Entry, which allows you to enter remarks for a selected campaign. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Select Targets

Click this button to display CRM Target Selection, which allows you to select targets for a campaign. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed.

Remove Target

Click this button to remove the selected target from the selected campaign. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed, and is only enabled if you are creating or editing a campaign.

Add New Task

Click this button to display Add CRM Task, which allows you to create a new CRM task for the selected campaign. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed.

Task Management

Click this button to display CRM Task Management, which allows you to view and manage CRM tasks. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed.

Email Contact

Click this button to display New Email, which allows you to email the contact associated with the selected customer, prospect, or task. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed.

Perform Mail Merge

Click this button to display Perform Mail Merge, which allows you to perform a mail merge task. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed and the Tasks radio button is selected.

Customer Maintenance

Click this button to display Customer Maintenance, which allows you to view detailed customer information for the selected customer, or the customer associated with the selected task. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed and a customer or customer task is selected.

Prospect Maintenance

Click this button to display Prospect Maintenance, which allows you to view detailed prospect information for the selected prospect, or the prospect associated with the selected task. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed and a prospect or prospect task is selected.

Convert to Qualified Prospect

Click this button to convert a selected prospect or a prospect associated with a selected task to a qualified prospect. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed and a prospect or a  task for a prospect is selected.

Convert to Customer

Click this button to convert a selected prospect or qualified prospect, or a prospect or qualified prospect associated with a selected task to a customer. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed and a prospect or qualified prospect, or a  task for a prospect or qualified prospect is selected.

Create Order/Quote

Click this button to display Order Edit, which allows you to create a new order for the selected customer or qualified prospect, or the customer or qualified prospect associated with the selected task. This button is only available if the Targets tab is displayed, and a qualified prospect or customer, or a task for a qualified prospect or customer is selected.

Create New Price Record

Click this button to display Price Book Price Maintenance, which allows you to set up price book pricing for a product, price class, or style. This button is only available if the Pricing tab is displayed.

Update Price

Click this button to display Price Book Price Maintenance, which allows you to update pricing for a selected product, price class, or style. This button is only available if the Pricing tab is displayed.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Campaign Name

Enter a campaign name, or click the Lookup button to select an existing campaign name.

Description

Enter a description of the campaign.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Targeted Start Date

Enter the start date for the campaign, or click the drop-down arrow to select a start date.

Total Companies

This field displays the total number of companies (customers, prospects, and qualified prospects) targeted for the campaign. This value is based on the targets set up for the campaign in CRM Target Selection.

Targeted End Date

Enter the end date for the campaign, or click the drop-down arrow to select an end date

Note A campaign does not end when this date is reached. A campaign ends when the campaign status is changed to Cancelled or Completed.

Total Targets

This field displays the total number of targets (contacts) for the campaign. This value is based on the targets set up for the campaign in CRM Target Selection.

Campaign Type

Enter a campaign type for the campaign, or click the Lookup button to select a campaign type. The campaign type determines the default tasks for the campaign. For information on creating campaign types, see Campaign Type Definition.

Campaign Status

Select one of the following statuses for the campaign:

  • Active - Select this status if the campaign is active. When you save a campaign as active, tasks are created for the campaign.

  • Cancelled - Select this status if the campaign is cancelled.

  • Completed - Select this status if the campaign is completed.

  • Planned - Select this status if the campaign is being planned.

Expected Prospect Conversions

Enter the number of prospects that you expect to convert to customers for the campaign.

Prospects Converted

This field displays the actual number of prospects converted to customers for the campaign.

Expected Qualified Prospect Conversions

Enter the number of qualified prospects you expect to customers for the campaign.

Qualified Prospects Converted

This field displays the actual number of qualified prospects converted to customers for the campaign.

Targets Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Display

Select whether to display targets (contacts), companies, or tasks for the campaign in the grid below this radio set.

Targets

This grid displays contacts targeted for the campaign. This grid is only available if the Target radio button is selected.

Companies

This grid displays companies targeted for the campaign. This grid is only available if the Company radio button is selected.

CRM Tasks

This grid displays tasks for the campaign. You can assign a user to each task. This grid is only available if the Tasks radio button is selected.

Pricing Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Campaign Price Book

Enter the price book for the campaign, or click the Lookup button to select a price book. When the campaign is active, this price book is automatically added to all targeted companies (customer and prospects) for the campaign.

For information on creating price books, see Price Book Maintenance.

Display

Select whether to display price records for products, styles, or price classes.

Prices

This grid displays price book price records for the campaign's price book. Double-click a price record to display Price Book Price Maintenance, which allows you to view detailed information for the price record.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Note This tab is disabled if you are creating, editing, or deleting a campaign.

This grid displays campaign information after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Double-click a campaign to select it and display information for it on the Main tab.
