Purpose

Define sales goals based on products, customers, product categories, product subcategories, and/or sales representatives.

Overview

Use Goal Maintenance to set sales goals for selected customers, products, and sales representatives. This allows for comparisons between projected goals and actual sales for a given year. Goals are assigned a number of units, a sales amount, or placement amount. You can enter goals by month for a specified year, or you can enter a year-to-date total and the total is divided evenly into 12 months.

Based on your company’s sales projections structure, you must determine how your company wants to track its sales goals. This allows you to define any combination of product category, product subcategory, product, sales representative, and/or customer, or you can track sales goals for a single field, such as a product code or product name.

After goals are set up, you can analyze goals (projections versus actual), using Goals Business Intelligence - Customer Goal Intelligence, Product Goal Intelligence, or Product Customer Goal Intelligence.

Note Data entered in Goal Maintenance is stored in the goals table.

You can also import goals in Goal Import.
