Purpose

Set up groupings of product lines for sales and commission purposes.

Overview

Use Product Line Group Maintenance to associate product lines with a product line group. Use this functionality if you are a distributor that services customers with multiple sales representatives, and each sales representative has certain product lines for certain customers for which they receive sales and commission credit. $Images\warning.gif$ The same product line can be used for different product line groupings. Before deleting a product line group, make sure that all customers linked to that product line group have been reassigned to other valid product line groups. You cannot delete a product line group if it is linked to a customer in Customer Product Line Group Maintenance.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Product Line Group Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new product line group.
Update	Click this button to edit the selected product line group.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected product line group.
Copy	Click this button to copy the selected product line group.
Show Data	Click this button to display data in the Product Line Group grid. This button is only available if you click the Inquiry tab. This button is disabled after you click the New, Update, Delete, or Copy button in the ribbon.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first product line group.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous product line group.
Next	Click this button to display the next product line group.
Last	Click this button to display the last product line group.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Product Line Group ID	Enter a product line group ID, or click the Lookup button to select a product line group ID.
Product Line Group Name	Enter a product line group name, or click the Lookup button to select a product line group name.
Start Date	Enter a start date for the product line group, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date.
End Date	Enter an end date for the product line group, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Available Product Lines	This grid displays product lines that you can add to the product line group. Double-click a product line you want to add to the group, or click the product line, and then click the right arrow button. Note Product lines marked as discontinued are not displayed in the grid.
	Click this button to add the selected product line in the Available Product Lines grid to the product line group.
	Click this button to add all product lines in the Available Product Lines grid to the product line group.
	Click this button to remove the selected product line in the Associated Product Lines grid from the product line group.
	Click this button to remove all product lines in the Associated Product Lines grid from the product line group.
Associated Product Lines	This grid displays the product lines in the product line group. Double-click a product line you want to remove from the grid, or click the product line, and then click the left arrow button.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
All (Product Line Groups)	Select this check box to display all product line groups in the Product Line Group grid. This check box is disabled after you click the New, Update, Delete, or Copy button in the ribbon.
Product Line Group ID	Enter a product line group ID for a product line group to display in the Product Line Group grid, or click the Lookup button to select a product line group ID. This field is only enabled if you clear the All check box.
Name	Enter a product line group name for a product line group to display in the Product Line Group grid, or click the Lookup button to select a product line group name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All check box.
All (Effective Dates)	Select this check box to display product line groups for all effective dates in the Product Line Group grid. This check box is disabled after you click the New, Update, Delete, or Copy button in the ribbon.
Effective Date	Enter an effective date for which you want to display product line groups in the Product Line Group grid, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. Note If a specific effective date is selected, all records where the effective date is between the start and end dates are displayed in the grid.
Product Line Group	This grid displays product line group information based on the selected criteria.
